I've taken various cuttings of various different plants and am yet to have a less than 100% rooting rate but neverless i've always done it in soil and wanted some advice on rotting to rockwool cubes i've seen them done well and stay healthy for weeks without any nutrients nothing but water and not a slight bit of yellowing which i've seen with my soil cuttings i was wondering if any1's got a cutting 101 a little guide on how to.. Do rockwool cubes have to be presoaked i always thought they had to presoaked in ph adjusted water and on top of that is there anything else you wanna soak them in i dunno maybe b1 superthrive b52 or anything else if any1's got any helpful info please let me know...

I add a tiny amount of KLN (rooting hormone) when I soak my cubes.
While I'm taking cuttings, my tray of rockwool cubes is also full of water, once all cutting are taken I dump the extra water.
Other than the KLN, I add nothing, I do use tap water, but rainwater would be better. I was taught to do this, the explanation doesn't quite add up for me, but it works so I do it. An old grower told me something along the lines of; the ions in solution change the osmotic pressure properties making it harder for roots to grow.

Not quite a 101, but rockwool is easy. That's all there is to it.

i think all methods will work, the keys i believe are 82 degrees and very low light no more than a 23w 2700k cfl about foot and half away

Get 1.5" rockwool cubes. Soak them in pH 5.5 water for 5 minutes and then water the cubes with a weak nute solution (100-200ppm) at pH 5.5-5.8. Let the cubes drain. Keep the plastic on the side of the rockwool cubes on. It keeps humidity in and looks cool.

Take cuttings from the top of the plant. The clones only need to be 1.5 - 2" tall. I noticed clones from the top of a plant root and veg fast. You can take a clone when topping a plant (root the part you snip off.)

Snip the leaves in half and dip the cut stem into rooting hormone and then place it into the rockwool cube. Put this under a weak fluorescent light 24/7. Make sure the rockwool cube never dries out, but don't let it sit in water or stay sogged, and don't use a humidity dome.

If the leaves droop (they shouldn't), mist them with water.

Yes, all these things are good. I used to soak the cuts in kln until i was ready to go with them.Let us not forget one of the most important objectives of cloning, you need to expose a good amount of the cambian layer when cutting and shaving away.Pay attention to the diameter of your stem where you take the cut, the bigger but less stiff part of the growing shoot is a good place to start. I made my own bubble cloner and all I do is ph the water and add a little b1 to it. I change the water every week. I get roots with mostly every cut. I made mine. All you need is 2 translucent sterilite containers with lids, a dual air pump with 2 air stones, 4-6 feet of 1/4 air tubing and some strips of inert rubber. I used bike handle grips cut in strips. Cut 2 1/4 holes in the top side of 1 of the containers for the air tubes. Cut holes in 1 lid to accommodate as many cuts as possible. Cut 2 air tubes to length and attach to stones and pump. Fill with h2o just shy of air holes and b1 and ph it. Turn on the air pump. Cut your clones.. Here is a secret, cut them off them cut a laceration lengthwise about an inch from the bottom clear through to the center but don't split the stem, it is ok if you do. This technique exposes the cambian layer more clearly and you will see roots BURST from this incision. Wrap them with strips of rubber to fit in holes of the lid with the stems close to the reservoir but not in it. Take the second container and place it over the top to enclose for humidity. You should see roots within days.
