How long does weed stay good?

Well, I'm just wrapping up my latest grow. I don't smoke too too much (at least compared to some people), and yielded more than I expected to. So it seems like I might have this ganja for a while, maybe over a year.

So I'm wondering, if weed is properly dried/cured and kept in masons in a cool, dry place, how long should it stay good before declining?

If dried and cured correctly bud can be stored in a cool dark place to super cure for years and years. I found a jar of bubblegum a year ago in bottom drawer of a dresser I cleaned out. It was there for over a year without me realizing it. I open the jar and buds were divine. Smell, taste and high were superb. :)

would it be safe to assume that weed may infact age like a fine wine!?

could you imagine?

sitting at a bar with a waiter slicked back black hair and talks his his nose in the air.

"ahhh yes, for our main course this evening we have a fine thai bubble gum from 96. grown in all organic soil from the hillls of humbolt county... chosen for its classic sativa high and wonderfull taste.. this is a delicacy among smokers."

"sir would you like a sample?"

OH YES PLEASE!!!

I actually just had some of my Columbine I found sitting in a little brass tin from last summer. I dare say it smoked and tasted better than before and had a great high. As long as storage conditions are right you'll be fine bud!

I didn't want to have to be the smart-ass but I have been drinking and no one has chimed in saying they would be willing to take some of the excess off his hands before it goes bad.....free of charge of course.

You can tip me a few dollars or lunch if you want. Maybe a sixer for helping dispose of said product. You wouldn't want to risk it going bad.:)

I have smoked buds that I had forgotten about for four years and they smoked well. Although after four years it was difficult to remember how good they good they were to begin with, or even what strain it was.

Ganja that old? I smoked some once from a friend's father's bag from the 1970's... tasted like hell and gave me a headache. Still smoked it though and I'm glad I did.

I read somewhere that if you inject some kind of exotic gas into your glass jars and then freeze them it could be stored for long periods of time. I will try to find the info and state the specific gas used.

I think he means nitrogen, not quite exotic though, as it comprises 78% of our atmosphere.

I smoked some "Buddha Thai Stick" we found in an old desk when I helped my dad move that must have been 25-30 years old,....it was in a baggie, stuffed in a small mason jar.
it tasted like smoking the new york times, sunday edition, I mean just as harsh and dry as you could imagine,.........but 4 of us DID get rather baked, quite to my surprise.

so I'd say at least 25-30 years, as long as you don't mind smoking something that tastes like a presto-log.
