thanks for the help guys. the yellowing of the leaves and purpling of the veins has stopped for now i think. ill prob water with micro every 2 weeks just to be safe from now on. i have a mycorrhizae related question. i used plant success soluable once at the beginning of veg. when using ej should once be enough or should i re inoculate or w/e throughout the plants life cycle? im assuming most people that use ej also use some kind of myco- is this incorrect?

The more good "bugs" as one calls them (aka: myco's) the better I feel.

I also feel its best to take them past the more inactive stage (powder) to actually visibly growing (aka: compost culture).

I put a small hand full of (active compost culture) to all teas, soil mixes, & top dress with it also.

Top layer of soil has lots of good visible fungal activity at all times.

* Like the Advanced Nutrients brand :)

thanks tf. ill read up on this active compost stuff. hopefully i can use my plant success myco and not have to shell out for new brew. like the maxicrop sig there. ive been looking into supplementing my ej lineup with liquid fish and kelp from maxicrop or vice versa. im guessing you would recommend?

I talked some about the active compost culture a few pages back (w/ pics).

Post up the specs of your product - there seem to be several ?

There fish is high in Nitrogen Npk so no good for flower.

Fungus likes fish & Fungus likes Phosphorus so fish in flower should be better.

Some fish products are phosphorus nPk dominate.

Maxi Kelp is great as its only got potassium npK like 0-0-1 or 0-0.0.1.

Most ferts lack K so it works great from start to finish, its cheap, hard to over fert with, breaks down quickly & seems to store well over time.

chunky meta-k

chunky meta-k

so i just got a bottle of meta-k the other day. didn't notice it when i bought it, but when i got it home i realized it had "chunks" in it. seriously, when i shake it it sounds like its got rocks in it. i haven't opened it yet, in case i need to take it back. whatta you guys/gals think, is it good? the chunks don't break up with just shaking it, but i could maybe pour it out into a bucket and go to work on it.

EJ line with hydro ???

EJ line with hydro ???

:wave:Hi Friends,
Very interesting thread thanks for all the infos Mates. Few question :
Is the idea of using EJ line in a recirculating syst.suitable ?
How will behave the brew if you prepare it in a large amount to use it in a whole week ? Need to bubble non stop ?
EJ with an Aquafarm kind of syst. with clay peebles suitable or not?
I apologise for my newbee questions

Hi Tact thanks for the reply,
I must clear your words for a better understanding
When you say "it would be a nightmare" What are you talking about ? The re circulation syst. perhaps ?
When you say " it seems to be the best of both worlds" do you mean "the Aquafarm kind of syst" ?
I meant a syst made of buckets with drain (no nutrients solution in the bottom of the pot)full of peebles or soil with the run off driven back to the res.
You explain quite well the fluctuation of the PH while bubbling for about three days, but what will happen to the brew if you keep bubling it for let's say 1 week in order for multiple watering ? What will be its potency and PH ? Could it become "toxic" after a while for the ladies ?

Im not able to give you much help as I dont have much experience with that system.

I will clarify my crappy previous post for you though.

Organic hydro (nightmares) may include:

Equiptment getting clogged with (bio film / aka. tea foam) = LOTS of Cleaning.

PH not staying stable = LOTS of testing / Adjusting

Nute water turning anerobic (stinky / bad) due to water temp, age, etc.

Not a good system for power outages due to losing pumps for water circulation.

There are probably more negative issues with this method of growing but those are a few of the problems I encountered.

People do it anyway somehow & re circulation could be effective if you could get enough air in the water ?

Please use the proper section as this is off topic - Wish you luck on your quest Vagator.

"Not kicking you out - just saying" :)

* Earth Juice may not be a good choice for hydro organics as its PH is very unstable when aerated.

Hi Tact
Really interesting reply mate,I now understand far better the major issue with EJ in a drip syst. Thanks. Let's speak about organic soil then. Earlyer in your thread you told about the importance of the fungus in order to help the Ladies "digesting" the nutes .I read you can grow that kind of Myco with oats flour. How to use it? When you got it, should I mix it when preparing the soil? and if yes in what quantity ?

We got into fungi talk back on page 6 pretty heavy - that should help alot.

If you dont have any myco products you can make your own with those grocery store food items & some wild growing fungi that can be found in the woods on rotten trees etc.

* Or better yet - Snag a bag of Espoma Bio-Tone that has a nice myco package for under $10 & use that for cultures.

You can add it to soil mix - teas - topdress (more the better).

Im going to make a new thread for these cultures today / tomorrow so that WE can keep this Earth Juice sticky short & sweet & to the point.

I will link that thread to this one when its ready.

Thanks

Tactical,

Dont forget the warning that comes with that super fungi mix of yours... :)

***WARNING***

A mix of Fungi in that concentration will eat thought small steams and plants with no problems which may result in death of the plant.

I hope thats a good warning.
