I have searched the site and there is nothing close to this so I figured I would post it up.

This is only a summary of thhttp://howtobuildagrowroom.com/Hydroponics/index.php/diyhydroponics/5-diypollensiftere project. for step by step instructions check out http://howtobuildagrowroom.com/Hydroponics/index.php/diyhydroponics/5-diypollensifter

This is a very simple how to for a pollen sifter. An easy and clean way to get every last bit of goodness out of your plants. The thing I like most about this set up is that it is all self contained. I always seem to suffer allergies around harvest time, and once it is dried it is even worst.

I used to use a jar with with silkscreen pulled accross the top and just shake above a glass table. All the time wearing a mask. On top of that I would have pollen everywhere for weeks. On the table, TV, speakers, baseboards. On top of the fact that it was a pain cleaning. This was all wasted goods.

All you need to make one are 2 2 gallon buckets, a lid and a piece of silkscreen. Pretty much all you need to do is cut at the bottom off one bucket, then about 4" up. Lay the silkscreen flat under the 3 and a half inch piece of bucket you got and put in the top of the untouched bucket. Stretch the screen tight and fill it with your trim and shake shake shake. All the pollen is collected in the bottom bucket so nothing goes to waste.

Going upside down probably wouldn't be a good thing. I have always thought something along the lines of a paint can shaker could help automate it.

Just a wee tip, I cut the middle out of my bucket lid and hot glued the screen onto it.

take a random orbital sander and attach a piece of round plexi the same diameter as the inside of the bucket.

set the sander/plexi doolie-wompus on top of the cannabis in the bottom of the bucket, run the cord out the top (cut a tiny hole in the lid? will you need a lid if the plex fits tight enough?), and turn on the sander.

it's basically the same idea as another poster here I forget where that post is now, but basically the vibratory action REALLY give a great yield.

I have steel micron screens (74 and 110 micron), stretched across a wooden frame ala a bubblebox, and I take my sander on a piece of plex and get 10 grams of dry sift in only a few minutes of buzzing.

mine likes to walk all over the table, so I wedge it between stuff.

I might go get a couple of buckets and try this instead

I sent you some rep= great simple suggestion.

so all you have is a 2-3" hole to get all the trichs to fall through?... no thanks

His idea (crftymofo) is much more efficient. Albeit I would have executed it a little different, looks like so much is wasted around the edges of the screen.

its kif or polm not pollen LOL =)

I wish I had enough weed to justify making one of those.

you can do the same thing with any tupperware or storage container
you can even use different screen sizes on each container and stack them up on each other for multi screen sifts........:tiphat:

For that type of method you should check out the first bucket on the site. http://howtobuildagrowroom.com/index.php?title=Pollen_sifter but like I said this one get the kif all over the place.

That was after running quite a bit through the sifter, and after emptying the trim I was able to collect most of it by just removing the screen over the glass table. I am always looking for ways to improve it and would love to hear any improvements you could contribute.
