how close can you get your hood to the tops? and what temperatures are you getting?

im not too worried about the lumen output, however thats a good little tool to have there, thanks.
im more so worried as to how close some of you can get it without heat issues, how close and what kind of temps do you see?

The closet plant to my 1k is about 16 -18 inches
The furthest is about 3 inches,
i dont have a hood i use vertical
and that chart above is very helpful

18-24 seems to be the magic number. I was wondering why my leaves were taco'd and noticed I forgot to raise the light. 15 inchs wasn't great, then raised the lights up and they flattened out......
Air cooled or not? I have a non cooled 1000W lamp about 20" from the tops with an oscillating fan. Temps are fine, about 24C-75F.
Mind you it's winter here and in a cold room. Might be a different story in summer.

yes, air cooled.
The combination of air cooling and the super spreader allows you to lower the hood more than normal (~18").

Ive got leaves touching the glass in my hood so 0" 
they arent burning or bleaching a bit. You see a huge difference when you can get the light that low.
