I'll take a risk & revive a rather old thread...

Al Sur & other UYos - I am relocating to live in UY & will arrive after Easter Week. I will be bringing my seed bank with me.

I have 2 400watt switchable MH/HPS setups, one is magnetic coil ballast & the other electronic (digital) remote ballast... They have power cords for 110 volts, 60 hz. I wonder if they can be converted to 220v/50h? I have no experience with electricity & am curious whether they would be worth bringing down when my goods are shipped.

We are planning on staying the fall & winter at Punta del Diablo until we detox from the BP stuff & get a bit more energy about us.

I so need your help, guys! I need to know how to locate some medicinal quality while I'm in MVD. After a 20-hour plane ride, I'm sure to be in severe muscle spasm when we land. We're planning to stay at Hotel Iberia in MVD & Silvia is kind enough to get an appointment for me with a local massage technician.

Can you give me advice so I don't put my foot in my mouth & act like a stupid Norte Americana? I don't want low quality & can pay for better, but will be on a budget...

Also, we will be in PDD until December, so I need to know the lingo in that area as well... Just before Carnaval, we will be heading toward 33 or Melo... Hoping to find a small finca we can buy & put down some roots, get some more goats, etc. ;p

I would so much appreciate any advice or warnings you might have to help me get comfortable in UY.

Good to see you back.Sorry that the other UY thing didn't work out.That's a shame.

I can't advise you about living in UY or contacts and whatnot,but for using your 110 electrical equip,you should be able to get a transformer so you can use your gear.
