Foliar spraying while lights on, question?

I am running just 1 - 1000 HPS in a tent that is 5x5x7 - I need to spray my plants that are 2 weeks into flower with some neem oil. I know that if I spray under the HID they can burn bad....The light is about 4' high right now. Do you think I can raise the light all the way to the top and it won't burn them? I am not spraying them in the tent, but after I do I need to put them back in there before they would be completely dry from that....I am trying to avoid spraying while the lights are off to ensure the RH isn't affected...I am trying to deal with some PM currently. Thanks for the input!

The best thing would be to avoid light exposure as much as possible after spraying them, do it when your lights are turning off and put them in your tent for the dark cycle

I have a different take. both from my experience here and my decades of commercial farming of produce. I like to spray in the mornings. As long as your lights are set at the correct distance and you have adequate air movement, it is better. Period. I think it is better for the plants.

If I ever spray in the evening (just before lights out) it's only because the chemical I am spraying may be phytotoxic ( or tends to burn with light), which is not too often if ever any more.

Yea I just don't want to add the RH during the lights off.

So I am guessing this is the best way for me, I think I will raise the lights and deal with them right after the lights come on. They need a good soaking of Neem. I just noticed the damn PM on this round. Thanks again!

Give them ambient room light, in the morning, after spraying.

Just give them 15-20 minutes with air-flow or till they dry out.... then turn on your sun. :D

dont do it, I just sprayed with neem with the lights on and all my pistils turned red prematurely, there just starting to create new white ones but seemed to stall or stress the girls for a few days,if your worried about pm spray just as the lights are getting ready to go off i mean within minutes after spray and keep a fan blowing on them. again it fraked me out and took me days to figure out why my pistils were prematurely turning red and finally figuerd it out spayed with neem while lights were on. save yourself some greif and DONT DO IT

Explain to me again..... why are you spraying an oil on pistils?

Don't ever spray anything on your plants... once you see buds. Your insect prevention regimen should include soil/hydro based solutions during flower.

Azamax/Azatrol.... used as a soil drench works wonders.

I usually spray with light on.. This is my and only my preference sue to the fact that too much moisture in the dark hours can harbor mold.

I like using a good misting sprayer and I do not spray until the leaves drip. I spray them enough to see a mist on the leaves and then back off.

In your case you are spraying an oil additive which is guaranteed to bead up so use with caution or try to pull the lights back a bit. Good luck.
