Commercial Grows in the City of Boulder

I'll be setting up a small grow in the city of Boulder, in a industrially zoned area.

What hoops did you need to jump through?

What Licences are required? Nursey or Plant Husbandry?

What does it take to make the Fire Dep't happy?

Do we need to submit our layout for approval by the Fire Dep't or anyone else before building the space out?

Any other advice regarding procedure / paperwork would be helpful. We will be getting a lawyer to make sure it's all done right, but I'd like some heads up from people who have done it before, and any obstacles they ran into in this process.

TIA!

Your probably to late if you havent allready got this into play , everyone I know in boulder has all ready got there grows approved

Yes, but today is June 13th. It took our warehouse in Boulder almost 6 months to get approved for everything.

The Fire inspection is the least of your issues, mount fire extinguishers, EXIT signs, emergency lights, don't use extension cords anywhere, everything on a fuse or breaker (i.e. surge protector), mount CO2 tanks in fixtures (chain them to the wall), don't board up windows and all your doors and walkways have to be working and unobstructed.

How are you setting up the warehouse? Doing a build out? You will not pass any inspections if you are just doing poly if they are in the same room as ballasts or lights. Do you have enough power in your panel at your warehouse? If you upgrade the power, the building inspectors will come in and look at everything! You could easily get held up weeks, if not months, for something really stupid, like a 6 inch step to your bathroom. Building inspections is also aware of all the grows and aware of the July 1st date, so they will most likely hold you up on purpose....

Good luck, but you are cutting it pretty close...

The Gov. just signed 1284. If we put all our apps in by July 1 and they tell us it's too late we will challenge it in court and likely win. We won't be giving up.

with all the massive regulations and zoning and codes both building/fire and endless others bound to pop up and then all the other bs going on with them wanting to ban grows all together..seems like the boat of making it work problem free here in CO has sailed but good luck to ya.
