Looking for max weight indoors

Hello, I've never grown indoors before. I'm looking to get a 1000w and go indoors. What is the biggest size container and how many can I fit per 1000w lighting? I will be using Fox Farm Ocean Forest Soil. I'm use to the outdoors but don't really know how big of pots I can do indoors and how many per 1000w lighting. Thanks for any advice or help!

The best way is whatever works best and easiest for you. You can grow many small plants in a Sea of Green type set up, or you could grow 1-4 monster trees. Depends on if your area has maximums and if you choose to follow them. You can hang your light vertically and utilize the entire circle of the bulb instead of just half of it. There's countless ways to do it - you just have to decide what you want to do. Better get reading!

This more depends on the are you are growing in verus the light. Also what type of training/growing you would like to do.
Run SOG and you will have TONS of small plants in small pots
Run SCROG or just grow big trees and you'd have no problem filling up the canopy with 2 or 3 plants.

It's all your preference and what you want to do with your garden :D

Hope this helps

Many things to think about. Like clp said, sog run is gonna have high plant count.

If this is a concern for you, do scrog. Less plants, with veg time, and screen training. You can also just veg some clones, flower at 15 inces, lollypop.

If you scrog, you have to be able to get to all the plants, thru the grow, so you have to plan pot size/room layout around that. What you can and cannot do indoors, relative to pot size, is what ever size pot you can fit will work.

I mean, I can put a above ground pool in my living room, grow indoors. Or I use multipe 5 gallon buckets. Or many many more 8qt pots, in a sog run.

As how many per light? As many as you want to shove under there. Whats the optimal ratio? Depends. What strain you growing? Whats your air flow? lol, I could go on, but you should try to get alot more specific with your questions, to get answers that you can really use.

So many different examples of different grows rooms on ICMAG, you just have to look around, see how many of what size pots are going under what size light, in a room, in a given config.

Your looking for MAX weight right? Well then I believe you have to go with a higher amount of plants to achieve this in a 65 day period.

If you want to yield the most, in the quickest amount of time, go with a Sea of Green setup. People say that a 1K HPS covers a 4' x 4' area, or 16 square feet. My personal experience is that you can pack 64 - 80 maximum using 6" square containers (4 per square foot). Personally, I would go for 4 per square foot. If you had the room you could setup a light on a mover and gain approximately 1/3rd more room, that would be a good idea. Pick a well yielding strain, there are many out there, do a quick search. When looking you want a quick strain, hardy, and clone able that is good for SOG setups. Clone them, veg them about 3 weeks (21 days), and flip to 12/12.

Do it up! Good luck!

I wish you the best!

my two cents......50watts per sq ft. so many methods hard to know your space requements, but more light equals monster buds if you have your ducks in a line. i grow with 50 to 65 as a rule and believe me it will make moster buds. remember this is also strain dependent so pick a provin big yeilder. check my sig for my galley to see what i'm talkin about.

I do not grow under 1000 watts but.... I would go 4 big 4 foot or so plants in 5 or more gallon pots.
Top the plants after 4th internode and try to get em bushy.

I agree with everyone on this thread about different styles. Its really a matter of preference. I prefer vertical lights and large numbers of plants. Good luck to you.
