I recently ran out of methadone due to circumstnaces beyond my control and spent almost 3 days suffering like hell...finally found some and I get plenty from my doc soon so no problem..but what a nightmare..horrible feeling..entire body..mind reeling with it all.. almost unbearable..and I do not take much, about 30-40 mgs a day...I also get Oxycontins but rarely ever take them due to the awful experience I had before with them...I weaned myself off, and pretty fast..about 2 weeks...it was hell but they were making me feel like shit and I could not poop..or stay awake later in the day...I was crunching 4 - 80's in my teeth and washing them down with coffee in the am to work all day on my feet...but I would start to nod a bit around 4 pm!!
I have DDD, degenerative disc disease, and the pain is awful with no meds..so I am stuck with them for the long term. Painkillers are bad medicine, but needed at times...always bad side effects, and running out is totally fucked up. Helping a friend is nice, but believe me you will regret loaning your last few because someone ; definitely' will return them before you run out...they will have some unforseen circumstance and not be able to repay and then you are fucked..save enough for yourself and consider them sacred.
