What's new

using only rabbit poo, blood meal and bone meal

if i were to only use these 3 things during my grow, could i get a sweet harvest from it?

i'd be using a promix soil mix with 2 tbsp of d. lime per gal of soil.

how much rabbit poo to soil ratio? 1/2? 1/1?

i'd start from dixie party cups and transplant to a 2.5 gal container (veg mix of rabbit poo/pro mix soil and bloodmeal) and then into a 10+ gal container (flower mix of poo/promix/bonemeal) after the plant shows its female preflowers.

Why those 3 products? That's a lot of N. Is the rabbit manure composted already?

If I had to choose 3 products it would be alfalfa, seaweed, and compost tea....

i have adult bills and can't spend any money on grow supplies. these three are what i have access to.

would i be better off not even using the blood meal since i have so much N with the other two (rabbit poo/bone meal)?

The problem with too much nitrogen is that it will slow your growth and you will have weak stems. The amendments that you mentioned will work but Nitrogen is used mostly in veg and you would need a PK booster (phosphorus and potassium) in flowering for good buds. I suggest atami's bloombastic pk booster but it is expensive to say the least but they did make a small 12 oz bottle for around $30. If I had to choose three soil amendments, i would choose earthworm castings, botanicare's Liquid Karma, and blackstrap molasses. Liquid karma might also be outside of your budget so I suggest powdered sea kelp if that is the case

For an extra $20, you can buy an aquarium pump and an airstone to make an organic compost tea because these and the amendments that you listed break down in the soil very gradually... Meaning you would have to "cook" the soil for 2-4 weeks by storing it in a dark place and occasionaly adding water (or better yet, a compost tea) and stirring the mixture AS NEEDED. Compost teas speed up that process so you don't have to wait so long. I THINK if you were to put a young plant in the kind of Nitrogen rich soil mixture that you mentioned W/O cooking the soil, I THINK the roots would probably burn. That is my speculation so take that with a grain of salt. Most nutrient companies bottle molasses and advertise it as a "complex carbohydrate" and charge you ten fold of it's original value...Molasses is a good chelating agent and source of complex carbs for the plant to use while fruiting. Here is more information on molasses....http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=101637

If you chose to get molasses...make sure it's blackstrap and unsulphured. blackstrap has more MG, Ca, and Fe than regular.

I hope this info serves you well and good luck with your venture

Rabbit guano (shit) makes great tea,,

Depending if the rabbit(s) has already re-eaten the droppings (disgusting habit) ,, will depend on how strong the tea will be in N (nitrogen). Fresh dropping are normally green,, secondary droppings are brown/black.

Perhaps a review of what a plant needs is in order?

There are cheep things I use such as rice flour, fresh ground coffee, banana and other interesting bits.

But the idea that Cannabis needs anything super special to grow is a lie. However, don't try to grow an excellent plant with out a goodly balance of Macro, micro and trace.

The other things are the soil structure itself. It helps if the roots live in a vibrant microorganism realm. That the tilth of the soil supports moisture but drains well.

I am sure it will grow but how well is the question.

Post how you do.. Maybe this soil of yours is good already?

Like Jack says, I'd be inclined to see how the plant does in the soil mix without a lot of additions. If you have good soil, you may be able to get by with just waterings, though I do like the idea of a P addition during flower (hence the kelp).
