so did a search.... found nothing!

what is the correct way to store coco after it has been prepped for use?

as in, i rinsed the shit outta it. and then rinsed once more with nute water. let it drain... now what do i do with the extra?

is it ok to throw in a rubber maid bin with a lid on it and leave out side?

There isn't much in coco to breakdown really, so i would think it would store fine for months, if covered and kept at moderate temperatures. TBH, i would be more concerned about the "nute water"..is it chem/organic?

I've never had much of a problem with mine, which i've stored prepared for 2 months or more. I however flush nutes through after it's in the pot, so am not sure how those nutes will affect coco stability.

Im paranoid about storing any grow mediums outside. you open it up to check at the wrong time and the fungus gnats etc are going to seize the opportunity

Make sure it's DRY first. If you store wet coir in a rubbermaid bin the coco on the bottom will go a little funky.
When my coco is dry I store it in the garage in a rubbermaid bin.
Dry coco will also not be very habitable for bugs.

second the make sure its dry part, wet coco in a closed container is very likely to get mold no matter how clean you try to keep everything, in my experience.

Personally I don't store my coco. I'm always running out to the store buying more blocks! :D Seems like as soon as I'm done fluffing one block I'm hydrating another.

If I have some left over from potting I just keep it in a rubbermaid, and I leave the lid off. I want it to dry out so that I don't get mold. Dry coco, well, I'd put the lid on.

I'm on the edge. Of what I'm not sure.

I'll make a 5kg brick or two at a time and the left over, 5 gal or so, gets pitched in a big rubbermaid tote. And left open.

Fungus gnats dont pay any attention to it unless it has root mass or decomposing matter.

It all gets used sooner than later. If it was to sit for a while I'd just flip it occasionally and eventually it would dry out.

I don't know I'm positive I've gotten fungus gnats in coco from a grow store and that was dry and had nothing rotting etc in it, personally i do not take any chances, they are easier to prevent then eradicate
