I have some Green Crack that has been curing for just over a month. Always try to keep a sharp eye on it, as smoke is currently amazing. Some of the bigger buds look as if mold is just starting to grow inside. Anyone have a picture of this just starting. Is it just normal hair on bud ? Or start of mold ? Any tips on spotting it before I loose it ?

Sorry I can't seem to get a good picture of it. Maybe someone has a photo that reflects what I am speaking of.

Thanks.

First came a massive caterpillar attack, then the rain

They left little shit pods all over it. Heartless...

I think that good idea is add name of strain's, and maby location?
Because then We will know what strain is not good mold resistance

This thread sent a shiver down my spine.

Ive lost pounds to mold over the years. Infact just the other day I burned up over half a pound from last years giant outdoor greenhouse plant in a metal bin in the backyard that id kept in the freezer for nearly a year. I was gonna BHO it but when I got it out the freezer it was just horrible.

This year im growing something alot less dense with long thin buds...

I had to chuckle, I'm sorry for the med growers out there, and people who actually survive and depend on chronic for their livelihood. I can feel this thread being a very good thread, and being very resourceful. Now we just need more pictures and more types of molds.

i dont think tis good idea, theres a strainguide of outdoor grown plants already... and everybody must try and test new strain at new location anyway...but of course if theres afghan genetics for example, well i guess that in Afghanistan is pretty dry weather, thats why such structure of plant, so it can be moldy in a bit more humid weather...but mr. tom hill grows deep chunk outdoors buuuut in cali:bump:hehe but its interesting what he says anyway:ying:

Yes, Calcium is crucial & underrated/used on so many other levels but is particularly crucial in preventing fungus attack. (the usual disclaimer, lol) I'm without my reference books currently but it goes something like - Calcium builds robust pectin levels in the cells of the plant leaving it much more resistant to attack from fungus. Spores dry out & die before the enzyme (polygalacturonase) utilized by many molds can penetrate the plants defensive systems & allow the fungus to gain a foothold. Simply put, the plant high in calcium is much less susceptible to attack from fungus (The preceding was loosely translated -I believe- by feeble memory of "Hemp diseases & pests", buy it, read it, know it well, & add something about the cursed cucumber beetle if you can). Of course once insect attack sets in, all bets are off & fungus will exploit these weaknesses/wounds if they are present.

I'm still with RC Clarke in that the largest plants out of doors come from zero training. The plant grows tall, becomes top heavy, blows in the wind, increases its stalk/rootmass, & take it from there

i also found that windy weather is good prevention against mold hehe i thin there are indicas which are mold resistant like PurpureaT, as well as some sativas hybrids, of course haze is the most resistant, but its long flowering hihi...

This year im growing something alot less dense with long thin buds...

yeah bro good luck!!!

This thread makes me sad..

I picked the top of the cola which was really moldy. You can still see bits of mold on the bud here. Strain is b3/n7 x erdpurt from Esbe. (Thanks Esbe!)

This thread is great and makes me want to cry at the same time. Man mold is bad bad times, nothing is like that pang in your soul when you just realize that the white shit on there is here to get you.

This thread is going to give me nightmares. Hell I have nightmares of getting caught in situations that are entirely impossible(that have to do with my babies-plants-)

I can see it now, appearing in a forest of ready to harvest cannabis plants, but in the distance, a special strain of mold is rapidly destroying plants, at several plants per minute. After several minutes, the entire forest of plants possess a cobweb look. A blitzkrieg canna-cide. An unbearable site.

*cry*

Any one have a clue on if moldy bud can be safely made into hash or vaporized? Or maybe hash then vaporize to be even safer :p.
