Cali Electricity Bill

I live in so cal and had the same issues with cost of electrical. I cut my costs significantly by wiring everything 220 instead of the normal 110. It makes the ballasts more efficient. My 5 1000 hps/metal halide switchable ballasts plus a dehumidifier and inline fan, air scrubber, 6 circulating wall fans, air pumps and my flourescents for clones and veg all costs about 650 a month it was about 1100

Oh my lol... ooo how I DON'T miss PG&E... my frist year as an apprentice to a 20+ year vet. grower I seen some of the highest electrcity bills ever... had 4 properties... 2 were used to grow & 2 to live in all located nicely on same acres of land tucked away in the redwoods up towards humboldt... anyways just for the 2 cabins(1 veg and 1 flower) we're talking an avg. of $5000 a month.

Their pushing for a Green California alright.. but it isn't in cutting back on electric use ;)

Peak and nonpeak hours don't matter if you're not on time of use metering. I requested time of use thinking I would save a couple hundred bucks, but last month it saved me all of $27.

so the fact of the mastter is dont use PG&E? what company is best?
i remember when i used a nice insulated room my powerbill dropped crazy. used to have 1100 dollar bill in florida 8k 4 inline fans pumps co2
portable ac...then i got raided lol so florida sucks dick. id rather have a med card and a higher power bill and be safe!

@ Extreegrow... lol I use to feel the same way.. but I'm at work during the day so having the lights on while I'm away would give me less control/oversight during those critical hours, and also living in the midwest we are prone to big temp swings during the day.. which we have been getting the last few weeks, running the lights from midnight to noon has been the best dec. I've made.. has helped combat the 80-90's+ weather and I'm always home when the lights come on so it gives me time to do work in there w/o worrying about much foot traffic near my garage.... Take preventative measures and your worries should go down.. if somethings gonna go wrong doesn't make a difference when it happens.. your either there to fix it/diffuse it or your not ;)
