Hash from mouldy buds?

I'm sure this has been answered before but I can't find it.

Simple question. If you make hash out of mouldy buds using bubble bags will the mould be washed away with the water, or will you just end up with mouldy hash?

ITS OK AS FAR AS I KNOW. I think thats really all you can do with moldy buds.

I wouldn't do it. I've allways just thrown out moulden material. My health is just more worth than smoking it.

DanishStoner, I have always thrown mouldy buds out as my health is important and there's no way I'd smoke them. However, if I ran them through the bubble bags and rinsed well wouldn't all the spores become suspended in the water? Spores are so tiny. The buds I am thinking of doing this to are only lightly effected.

I also suspect that most of us have actually smoked the odd bits of mould without realising it anyway, although I have no idea how harmful it might be. I guess some types are quite harmful and others less so.

I have read several places that you can use moulded stuff in hashmaking.

Well of course you can make hashish from it. The question is how much cannabis you in general have around you. Is it really worth it. I bet nothing will happend, but why just not drop an extra seed and let the nature do it. I would make hashish out of some other buds, my two cents Please post pictures hehe !

In my experience, it is well worth salvaging the hash from moldy buds. Without a doubt.

For me, there's only one place for moldy buds...the trashcan!

If you just have to do something with it, you could make some canna butter. I think it'd be safer to eat it rather than inhale it. People eat cheese with mold on it (brie, for example) all the time, so I would think that making butter would be ok.

You don't want to eat just any type of mold, some of them produce mycotoxins. You don't want to use any extracts made from moldy buds either as the mycotoxins can become dissolved or suspended in the solvent. Atleast with bubble hash, the extraction water is poured away, along with the spores and mycotoxins. So long as you rinse the bubble hash on each mesh through with clean water before collecting, it should be perfectly fine.

Can you really detoxify a sample by just rinsing it with clean water? I kind of doubt it, but if you have any articles that say otherwise, I'd be glad to read them.

I think I will probably go ahead and try it sometime next week and post results here. of course unless it kills me or makes me sick it won't prove anything. From my way of thinking we must inhale a lot of mould spores in our general day to day living. I suspect a lot of pot has a small amount of these spores anyway.

That's pretty much how I see it. Thank you. I will give each bag quite a good rinse and will dry the hash quickly as possible.

Too blazed to remember where I read it at the moment, but I know from multiple credible sources I have read that using bubblebags the mold will rise to the top. I would just do a couple rinses in a bubbleator or something to make sure to separate everything so it can float.

i have definitely used moldy bud in bags and it's fine, the mold doesn't go through, it's a great way to salvage something out of what would otherwise be a complete loss.

his second point g.s.. the coffee filter should.. block spores from passing through.. was my logic when i made sum qwiso out of some darker.. // possibly light mold or pm problem dam commersh

perhaps it was addressed when they were said to possibly dissolve into the isoprop :S
