sorry about the poor quality photo here, had to use my phone and it hates the hps light apparently, all these oscillating lines show up while taking them... grrr and the colours are way off, but you can see the stage the plants are at, the power plant clones are really taking off! and the white widow girls have got their health back from the nute def it seems. some of these seedlings are growing like mad with a few of the MS mix really really tall compared to others i've had at the same age. possibly due to the cfls and stretching for the light, or maybe just their pheno. anyway stay tuned.

hey thanks killerweed31!

and yeah angel4us i'm revegging it. i've just put it back under 20/4 light regime and gave it some nutes and will water it again normally. this plant wasn't that big so we didn't have a huge issue with lower buds not being ripe, the lower ones for some reason actually had more brown pistils than the ones at the top. i've never done this before so hopefully it goes ok. i'll keep you all updated :D cheers again mate

these seedlings are looking all pretty good but i fear the soil pH still isn't down as low as it should be and they're getting slight nute def. i might bring the pH of the made up water down a few .1s tomorrow.

attachment.php

these two power plant clones have really gone nuts compared to the others. they just keep stretching for the sky even under my piss weak 80w cfl set up! can't wait to chuck them under the 130w cfls.

attachment.php

the white widow clones don't seem to be going as well, 1 and 3 seem pretty healthy and have taken off, whereas 2 and 4 seem to be a little runty, however they've got thick stems and good colour so we'll see if they take off in the next week or two. all have recovered well from nute lockout / iron def,

here's the remains of the gorgeous white widow girl we harvested about a week or so ago! seems to be doing ok. put under 18/6 80w of cfls with the rest of the closet jungle. ordered 4 x 130w cfls so hopefully i'll have a fair bit more wattage in the near future. i was going to use a 400w hps but it heated up my closet to 30C+ way too hot for the girls so unfortunately til i put them outside i'll have to settle for cfls, which may be good as i'll just be in veg not flower cycle and don't want them getting too big anyway.

i made up a batch of pH adjusted water with some organic (seasol) nutes at an EC of 0.42 (ppm 203) i'm not sure if i'm reading these meters right... the tds one seems really low. correct me if i'm wrong please if these nutes are too low for the clones and girls from seed i've good go nuts, as this is the first time i've used organic nutes and am not 100% sure on the correct levels. might check them tonight. the seasol bottle doesn't give specific ppm or ec just 9ml per 10L sigh...

temp is consistently between 18C-25C

here's a picture of how the closet jungle is turning out!

attachment.php

it looks like some of the seedlings are getting a little thirsty for nutes, so i started feeding a slightly stronger dose and am also trying to bring the pH of the soil down, i keep watering with 6.3pH water but the soil (at pH7) is buffering too well and keeps it at about pH 6.9/7... driving me nuts! might have to strengthen the water to 6.0pH and see how it goes for the week.

hey mate, not really sure yet i haven't given it much thought as i've been busy studying recently. i probably need to do more research into revegging. i'll probably transplant it in the next week or two when i mix up a new batch of soil. i'll keep you guys posted with photos when i do.

screw it, just went and did it then mate.

step one - took the top layer of soil out by hand, no roots in the top layer.

step two - use a ruler to separate the side of the pot from the soil/roots, run it around the entire pot.

step three - squash it slightly from opposite sides to loosen it up a little.

step four - tip upside down and pull the pot off the plant

step 5 - use scissors to cut up vertically through the bottom of the root mass

step 6 - cut off / gently pull of outer root mass

step 7 - i got a pot of equivalent size to the one it was in, filled it 1/3 with fresh soil

step 8 - place plant and reduced root mass into new pot

step 9 - fill in with new soil and water in

step 10 - give it another 12 weeks and harvest again! haha

hope that helps buddy

Thats looking GREAT darwinsbulldog! I've got some Safari mix going as well! Just popped them around the first of May. I've been finding a lot of indica plants even though I was expecting more sativas. Yours look fairly indica too. Are you searching out a mom or just flowering them?

Props on that Widow harvest, she looks very tasty! How many days did she go? That reveg may take some time to get going again, but they explode once they do.

hey mate, cheers! yeah they all seem to have some nice broad leaves. umm i'm planning on searching out the best mums of each strain and breeding a portion of them (2-4 tops per plant) with the best males. i'll have to flower them for 2 weeks before i put them outside in aug/sept so i can tell sex and then separate them over at least 2 different plots so they don't get pollinated by the wind. probably need to be a few hundred metres apart at least. and i'll flower the rest. stay tuned :D

@ Frozenguy, i'm Darwinsbulldog's mate who had the White Widow harvest in the pics above. I only let her flower for about 7.5 weeks. I would've normally let it go another week or so but i'll be leaving the country for a couple of months in a couple of weeks and had to harvest it now so that it could dry and cure in time for me to enjoy it before i leave :p I've given it to Darwinsbulldog to reveg while i'm away so by the time i come back i should be able to put her into flower again. Although we'll probs just chuck her in the guerilla grow cos she's a strong plant and i'm getting more seeds in the next week or so but we'll see. Stay tuned mate!

disaster hath struck! plants were still looking really pale getting paler and nute def, so i thought i'd add a little iron sulphate to try and lower the pH of the soil as even after 2 weeks of water with pH water 6.4 the soil pH was still at 7. so i sprinkled some iron sulphate crystals onto the surface of the seedlings' soil and watered it in with just plain pH 6.4 water and today came home and looked at them finding some had wilted terribly and their leaves had scrunched up. i'm assuming i must've added too much and the pH dropped a HEAP and fucked the plants up. anyway i flushed each one with the pH 6.4 water x 3 cups each. hopefully this solves the issue and washes the excess salts out and brings the pH back to a stable range. anyway here are some pictures of what NOT to do in the future lol not sure how they'll recover, but either way, hard lesson learned.

ps. please feel free to give me advice or pointers if what i've done is wrong, or miss diagnosed etc, i'm always up for being corrected and gaining experience. cheers

on a more brighter note, the clones are all looking nice and dark green, very healthy it seems! and i believe my 4 x 130w cfls have arrived at the post office and will be picked up tomorrow! wooot. now just waiting for all these books i ordered from amazing and a few packs of seeds here and there!

Hey Darwin! Whats up man

I would suggest not messing with soil ph too much, even though you are worried about lock out etc, I have found you do more damage than good by tinkering.

I know its hard but try to just stand back and not intefere too much or your plants are going to suffer.
In the past when I've had problems in soil Ive always had success by repotting rather than trying to alter soil ph.

Just wondering what size pots did you and penguin flower in? ive got some in 4.5 L pots and am wondering if ill be able to pull it off or will have to repot to the next size up. They look the same size as yours in any case.

Overall your plants look good so i wouldnt worry about them too much! caring is killing in our case sometimes.

good luck bro , ive pulled up a chair and will be watching the show
