When I had stick built rooms, flat white paint is just too damn easy and cheap. Each grow= new coat of paint. Clean and simple.
I'm in tents now and wonder how they stack up. I have 2 Home boxes and a dr 120.

ORCA Grow Film™ provides the following unique advantages over traditional reflective foils:

  • 99% Diffuse Surface: Microfiber structure creates even light distribution across material surface regardless of incident angle of light. The resulting isotropic surface luminance eliminates hot spots and does not require surface to be hung flat during installation.
    - Diffuse vs. Specular and Why diffuse reflection matters.
  • Highly Reflective Surface: Measured at 94% reflectivity across the full visible light spectrum. ORCA Grow Film™ is the highest performing reflective surface in the hydroponic industry.
    - Performance comparison
    - What does full visible light spectrum mean and why does it matter?
  • Thermally Reflecting: High infrared reflectance keeps heat where it should be. (More)
  • 100% Light Tight.
  • No Color Shift or Iridesince: Light reflected from surface maintains the original color wavelength so you get the full spectrum from your lamps. (More)
  • Durable, puncture and tear resistance: 11 mil thick
  • Waterproof Washable & cleanable with common household cleaners:
  • Mold and algae growth resistant.
  • UV Protected and Stable: Blocks out harmful UV light with wavelength below 400nm, material does not yellow. (More)
  • Recyclable eco-friendly material containing no halogens, plasticizers or VOCs.
  • Made in Canada
here they compare Orca to most of the other brands of film and theres no comparison !

Its also VERY expensive, almost 3.5 times the cost of panda film.

I prefer flat white paint. never tested it but have also used mylar and panda film. Mylar was too flimsy and got sirty. Panda was OK but a PITA to hang and seal. I used it instead of drywall so I had to tape all the seams

i use that insulfoam from home depot then put panda film on the inside then u have a room inside a room!. i built a 5x5 room out of those 2 products and 2x4's. cost about 80 bucks and it blows a tent away in quality. that includes the 18'' stand i built under the room. Insulfoam isnt cheap its made for insulating garage doors about 8-15 dollars a sheet comes in different widths. if u have money go ahead and buy a tent. but if your willing to try saving 300-500 dollars i really recommend in building a room yourself! dont grow if you dont have any carpentry skills lol

If the walls are up and insulated, and smooth, but you want to go the extra mile:
kilz hi-hide primer w anti-bac/fungal.
If the walls are up and insulated but you don't want to paint over wallpaper or mess up the place, or just hate painting, panda is your friend.
If you are worried about FLIR and would sleep better at night knowing your heat signature is clean, reflectix..
if the walls are up and not insulated, reflectix or R-tech white Insulation board will do the trick.
If you have no walls, a single wall or 2, I have made complete rooms from R-tech wrapped in panda.

Mylar sucks. it is flimsy, it gets dirty really easy. (can't really spray anything around mylar) and it totally sucks to clean. Panda can be washed w bleach.

I have "foilon" style woven reflective too. It gets old and flakes off. falls in the buds. it's expensive and it reflects pretty well but it is no light or vapor barrier. I have a brand new 100' roll of it and I could really use the poly to build an light & airlock right now. for the price of this stuff, I could have 2 rolls of 6ml panda and change for home depot! This is where Kilz Primer Kilz it. hands down.

the biggest issues with people using panda is that they turn a relatively easy job into this huge project. measure the dimensions of the area. roll out the desired length. take 6" and fold it to the black side. duct tape the seam. walk it in the room, start at 1 corner and staple on the tape. now you have twice the plastic and duct tape to keep the staples from ripping the heavy panda. use a razor knife at the baseboard or 1" from the floor and cut it to size. duct tape the bottom and staple. voila.

here's 2 terrible cell phone shots of the inside and out of a 10x20 twin room grow I built a while ago from R-tech insulation board.(back then the reverse side was blue). now it's white as previously mentioned. unfortunately I can't find pics of the rooms wrapped, but it olny took some 1x2's to frame the area and 2x4's to make a stand for the AC. fender washers and 2" drywall screws w the help of some spray foam sealant and duct tape made it happen.

I'm personally a fan, of the flat white paint. I go out of my way to fire proof ( well you can never fire proof, so call it fire rate) all room I grow in. This is an investment a new room should always use a fire rates insulation, drywall, paint, doors, ect. The last this im gonna do is wrap the walls in an excelerant.

Nope, the original Kilz should be stocked by all Home Depot's that stock Kilz2.

Knew what you meant either way. Just wanted to argue.
