What's new

Is thiis a defiency or too much N ?

Im not sure whats going on with my babies. They are about 2-3 weeks old and aer currently in LC's soillest mix #1 .. promix ewc p erlite lime, meals, kelp, greensand.

They were just in promix for teh first 2 weeks then transplanted into this mix..

Heres a couple pics if anyone has any input that would be great.

Its a def imo, K & Mg & possibly Ca too, looks like you have lock up to me bro! need to flush & reapply a full blend nutrient, a foliar feed may also help, the other bigger plants to the left are dissplaying K Def & maybe Ca or Mg too!
Its not overfeeding, more likely you have never flushed your pots through & have a build up of salts which has locked everything out, whats the runn-off PH? What Nutes you using, EC etc etc etc! Also what Medium is that man, looks unusual?

Personally, I would flush twice then resume normal feeding schedule. They look like they have a Potassium deficiency. Did the problem begin right after the transplant? Good luck!

im using organic mix! i thought i woudlnt be able to burn my plants. thats why im suprised im getting a lock out so early too. all i do is add normal tap water. My tap water pH is about 5. I let it sit over night.. I dont know how to really flush as i havent added anything. I put in blood meal bone meal kelp meal and jersey greensand. The soil was cooked for about 2 weeks before they were transplanted.

The plants to the left are some diesel clones. I dont think they are showing a def.. its just cuz i just took some cuttings from them. Last time before i flowered my earlier clones i took some clones first and right after i took cloens the ones i cut showed those same signs.. its just on a a few leaves. Its weird. ( i dont really like these clones but it was all i could get at the time. My friend claims they are diesel but knowing him it could just be some random bagseed. LOL ). These are the seedlings i got. ICE and WW.

How long has this problem been going on? ~ 5 days
What STRAIN are you growing? Nirvana ICE and WW
What was the establishing technique? (seed or clone?) Seed
What is the age of your plants? 2 - 3 weeks from sprouting from soil
How long have they been in the soil mixture they are in now? 1 week
Were they in the same mixture when they were seedlings/smaller plant? If not, what mixture were they in before? Germed and sprouted in Peat pellets
How Tall are the plants? ~ 4 inches
What PHASE (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in? Vegging now i believe. they range from 3 - 6 internodes.
What Technique are you using? (SOG, SCROG etc) eventually SOG
What size pots are you using? (Include how many subjects to pot) they are in 5.5"x5.5"x8"
What substrate/medium are you using? What brand of soil mixture are you using?(percentage of perlite, vermiculite...etc?) 6 partspromix 2 parts perlite 2 parts ewc 2 tbsp/gallon dolo mite lime
What brand Nutrient's are you using? blood meal bone meal kelp meal jersey greensand
How much of each nutrient are you using with how much water? *Knowing the brand is very helpful*
How often are you feeding? uhh just when the pots are light weight or the plants are a little droopy
If flowering, when did you switch over to using Bloom nutrients?
What order are you mixing your nutrients? (example: veg nutes 1st, bloom 2nd ect)
What is the TDS/EC/PPM of your nutrients used? no ppm meter
What is the pH of the "RUN-OFF"? i didnt check on my last watering ( i never checked cuz i thought oragnics didnt raelly need a PH check. i only have the cheap strips )
How often are you testing pH/ppm/EC/TDS? see above.. never
What method of pH test was administered? Using Strips? pH pen? only have strips
How often are you watering? maybe once every 5 - 7 days. not really sure. see above
When was your last feeding and how often are you feeding? just watering. no feeding
What size bulb are you using? 1 90 watt led ufo. 2 23 watt cfls
How old is your bulbs? ~ 2 months
What is the distance to the canopy? 4-6"
What is your RH Factor? (Relative Humidity) 45%
What is the canopy temperature?27C
What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include fluctuation range) maybe 4 C
What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.) 200~ cfm through my cabinet
Tell us about your ventilation, intake exhaust and when its running and not running ? always runningn 2 6 inch ~100 cfm computer fans. tons of 3 inch intakes all along bottom of cab and at midsection at the split ( 2 compartment cabinet )
Is the fan blowing directly at plants? not right now
Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist? moist
Is your water HARD or SOFT? soft
What water are you using? Reverse Osmosis (RO)? Tap? Bottled? Well water? Distilled? Mineral Water? tap
If using tap water, what is the ppm/EC/TDS of the water right out of the tap?(Only if you have a tds pen) n/ a
If using RO,Distilled, mineral water, what is the ppm/EC/TDS without any additives?(Only if you have a tds pen) n/a
Are you using water from a water softener?
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned or pinched? no
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so what and when? no
Are plant's infected with pest's? no

PH 5 is pretty low.... what kind of tap water are you using? Well water from underground? Or city water with all that chlorine and other shit added in it? I personally wouldn't use city water to water my plants.... You could have a PH issue...
Here's an article that discusses ph and how to stabilize it/raise/lower.
http://www.growfaq.net/index.php?sid=2784050&lang=en&action=artikel&cat=13&id=437&artlang=en

try to read this link before making a topic, almost all possible def. are in this topic here:
https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=11688

Also, you said that plant is 5 days old... wtf.. Those are some huge 5 day old plants from seed... at 5 days, even after sprouting, mine barely have a few nodes, if any.

sorry i meant to say 2 weeks old. they arent 5 days. they were doing fine until i put them into my organic mix. i put them in there as the cotelydons or whatever were yellowing.. im using city tap water.. i havent taken the ph in a long time. i dont have a meter so its kinda pain in the butt. i cant find my strips either. i guess im just gonna keep watering normally for a bit and see if they grow outta it.. hahah

I suspect pH is to blame here, but this could also be transplant shock.
pH is important in soil/soilless as well as hydro, the difference is the range and affect of pH on the meduim. for soil/soilless the range is 6-7 with 6.2-6.8 being optimal. Although the test strips are not very accurate, it would be helpful to know your run off pH of both the promix and the mix they are in now. Im willing to bet there is a difference in pH. If the difference isnt too much, then this is transplant shock and the plant should bounce back once it gets use to the new mix. If the difference is major than you will want to flush and adjust pH back into range
hope this helps
H.A.
