Bubble cloner at edge of 1000w MH?

So if I'm buying a 1k MH anyway, could I just put my new cloner right up against the tub? Assuming the light isn't obstructed by the plants in the tub I mean. The near side of the cloner would be about 2' from the center of the bulb and the far side would be about 3' away. Shouldn't that be enough light to clone with?

i've cloned from "side light", shall we say. i'm wondering tho.....what the 1000w for ? flowering ? if so, you can't clone with that 12/12 light source.

bad idea, if your running a 1000 whats another 20 watts for a clone light? if the clones recieve to much light they will put energy into growth instead of rooting

Keep the cloner in the shade: Under the table, behind a box or curtain. With that much light, none of it need be direct and it's probably better if it's not.

Pseudo, so you're saying it would be too much light? That works, because I'm probably not buying that 1k MH after all. I was going to use it for veg, same thing most people use MH for, but I think I'm going to use a 400 I've got laying around instead. Maybe that would be a better fit for the cloners.

I've grown up hearing that clones should be grown under minimal light until they root, but I've been getting roots in 6 days under my 600w lamp. If you have a 400w lamp then you should be sweet. It was taking 2 weeks to get roots under my 125w enviro, so I suspect that plants grow roots faster in responce to increased light levels.
