Help! I need a noobie strain for my indoor environment!

Hi everyone!

For the past few days i have been reading the threads on different strains for high yield, fast yield, etc, etc... And i have been perusing Seed boo reading the different strains - so freaking many! But none of what i read really answers the question i have:

What strains are noobie grower friendly for indoor soil growing?

- I am only looking at feminized seeds since i cannot work with clones in my current set up.

My feminized choices right now are:

- Trainwreck (Green House Seeds)
- Arjans Strawberry Haze (Green House Seeds)
- White Berry (Paradise Seeds)
- Trance (Dutch Passion)
- Brainstorm (Dutch Passion)
- Blueberry (Dutch Passion)
- Kiwi Skunk (Kiwi Seeds)
- Master Kush (Nirvana Seeds)
- Wonder Woman (Nirvana Seeds)

I plan to buy a pack every 2 weeks for the next 12 weeks so that I have a nice little bank to draw from for my future endeavors.

I chose the particular strains above because i liked the way the plant looked in the picture, the high described, and for at least one (Kiwi Skunk), the ease of growing.

What i prefer is a powerful strain that is beautiful to look at and does not need to be a high 'Chronic' type yield machine.

My grow space is 4x4x7, vertical space is an issue after factoring in the reflector hood so I am looking for any plants i grow to stay in a 3ft tall range, bushy is fine as long as I can have 9-12 plants. I use 3 gallon Smart Pots, if that matters.

Thanks in advance!

Hi! From your list i'd pick up the dutch passion blueberry. Is a very girly weed, very nice looking and smelling, with a warm mellow high and delicious delicate flavours. I'd go with DJ Shorts blueberry but i think DJ doesn't sell feminized seeds, only regular.

That master Kush and trainwreck should be easy to grow. The blueberry might be a little picky though. Training your plants will help ensure you have a level canopy. Additionally. seed buying can get VERY expensive. I sugguest that you buy a pack or two then use the extra cash to invest in high quality equipment for your chamber. Items to keep in mind is ventilation, heating and cooling, maybe a Small Boy water filter and a decent set of meters and gauges.

straight up best noobie strain is northern lights, very forgiving easy plant to grow. I see it is not on your list but keep an eye out for any crosses of NL you can get.

if you get to where you are undecided between strains, consider shorter flowering times

sometimes in mid flower, the soil's issues start to rear their ugly heads - nice to be close to done when (if) that happens

i would honestly recommend growing out a run (or 10) of bag seeds before you start laying out the cashish for seeds

even if they herm, or aren't a good variety for your region, you will know if your mix is going to work and whether your grow skills are ready for investment

besides you might just find a gem

Get White Skunk...it's CHEAP and it's good, it's also easy to grow and looks good too. White Label makes them.

Once you've proved you CAN grow a plant to proper maturity...spend more on better genetics.

Good advice xmobotx and that is what i am doing right now. I am growing 8 Dirty Dawg hybrid, and 20 bag seed that look sativa'ish.

I am collecting the genetics for when i get things down i have the beans and i need to buy them while i have the means, which is now, and not later. I also like the idea of having a little cabinet full of awesome cannabis beans to select from waiting to be grown. :)

some people swear by fem genetics, from many years growing i have learned that fem seeds will produce eather females, males, hermies or a bit of everything. i have 2 fem headband plants going now at d43 and i just noticed a few nanners popping up. go with the fem beans and try your luck with them some people have great success with them. good luck

Ideally, for my vertical grow, i would like to invest in one strain, grow a few mothers, clone them, and then start my 24-32 plants from clones. I think that is the proper way to do it from what i have read here thus far. It is just that process is very daunting for first timer. My little 4x4 area is my training ground and hopefully after a couple harvests I will be ready for something bigger. Thanks!

Trainwreck gets my vote.

I suggest giving Hashberry a try. It's a Mandala seeds strain. Extremely easy to grow, smells/tastes fantastic. The high isn't incredibly strong though. Still a really beautiful, easy to grow, great tasting/smelling, CHEAP ($30) strain. Not to mention, most of the time I had a 100% pop rate (all germinated). I was getting good fem rates as well. I believe at least 50-75% of my beans were female. Of course this varies, but I had good results with Hashberry, as well as the other Mandala strains.

This strain is incredibly easy to grow. It takes lots of punishment, and can survive a lot of noobie trial and error. For the money, I love Mandala strains. They are cheap, yet they have reliable genetics (at least I have found).

You could cut out the males during veg since you don't have the room anyway.

i'll 3rd the northern lights. it's good teeth-cutting weed. it'll take a fair bit of abuse and still produce, but it'll also let you know when you're fucking up - so you don't repeat said fuckups with suberuberdankexpensiveseed plants. weed w/ training wheels and a buzz i love on a day-to-day basis. it aint champagne, but it's at least the champagne of beers.

or something.

I would stay away from dutch passion and nirvana feminized seeds, i have seen to many reports of their feminized plants go hermie. Greenhouse seems to have reliable feminized strains. Take a look at femaleseeds too. Their indicas (nl,whitewidow, ice) are very easy to grow... and they have good prices.

Another strain you might consider is Paradise Sensi Star. It seems to be very forgiving and doesn't stretch too much.
Seedboutique has a Paradise collectors pack with:

Seeds Per Pack : 6 Fem
2 X Sensi Star
2 x Ice Cream
2 x White Berry

Good Luck

If fems are a must, AK-47, Chronic or White Russian from Serious. Double Dutch from Magus.
I've never grown WR but the other 3 are idiot proof, easy to clone and good/great yielders, at least the regular versions were, and great for beginners, they grow them selves, almost.
I'd second the Sensi Star, but it wouldn't be my 1st choice, I've heard it's leafy, and a pain to trim. Not a great yield. Great smoke tho'.
