Where are the best Blueberry genes? Just wondering if anyone has grown DJShorts blueberry and Dutch Passion's blueberry and can tell me which one is better. Also what is the difference between DJshorts Blueberry and True Blueberry. Any advice on getting the nice lavender look and blueberry muffin smell. I've heard the cure has a lot do with it. I've smoked several differnt blueberry bud, but only a select few have had that nice blueberry smell and taste.

Do a search if you want a detailed answer, but in short:
DJ's is better than DP.
TB is more sativa and slightly stronger than BB but it doesnt yeild as well

SpiceOfLife has great Blueberry crosses for great prices. Mix pack on Seedbay is 50 bucks.

Dreamz_Of_Green - You are wrong. :p DJ worked w/ DP, but the numbers were small and they eventually ripped him off. He also didn't have much part in the selection. Both lines are from the same batches.

I have a Dp blueberry mom thats grail shit. Tasty, smooth and easy, potenty and giggly as hell. You just want to skip and sing everywhere you go. I smoke her 6-7 times a day for months. She's lovely in every respect, although she doesnt smell blueberry, she smells fruity and has a fruity sweet taste. Yummmmmmmmmmm.

While i grew the 10 DP, a buddy grew 10 dJ's as we were looking for a mom. The plants were very very similar. All showed deformities and crinkled leaf and you couldnt let the nute bag be seen by either group. Neither batch appreciated any tinkering around or the nanners would fly. Steady as she goes. We ended up choosing a Dp plant but there were some very good specimens in the Dj pack as well. The vigor of the single Dp specimen won the day.

Most of the negatives work out of her by the 3rd - 4th clone generation.

In my mind, Blueberry by Dp or DJ (there the same plant) is the ultimate smoke. Dp might sell the same plant but Djs brilliance is alive and well in my wonderful, beautiful bb momma.

If you want a Blueberry flavored smoke dont grow DP's, it'll take you forever to find a suitable pheno & i could'nt find a keeper & my buddies all report the same issues. While other breeders have better tasting versions & nearer BB in taste/flavour, stay clear of DP if i were you! Just my opinion! Maybe 10 years ago it may of been a different story & you may have found something then, DP have gone downhill imo!

i've heard great things about joey weeds blueberry. never grown it, and the closest thing to bb i ever grew was chimera's bb x grapefruit. that was one of my favorite smokes of all time.
i suffer from extreme anxiety that can cripple me and even take my vision for short periods. i phucking hate taking those benzo's the dos perscibes, and i have found that anything bb will calm even the most intense anxiety attack i can have. it calms the nerves and makes you feel a sense of well being and happiness. like i said i've only tried the bb x gf, but that is the best anti-anxiety meds available to man imo.

D.S. Toker, Can you elaborate? I've heard it isn't the easiest strain to grow, and I was looking for tips on growing it to get the truest flavor.

yep, i got a great blueberry from DP too - fem seeds
mine does taste and smell of blueberry , but not just blueberry, it has a fruity taste too.

apparently DJ's Bb has more variation the DP's

to keep the aroma/taste ive read advice from DJ about using MH lamps and not keeping them very close to the canopy in the last few weeks. there is an article by him somewhere.

i find my Bb easy to grow with organics - but it requires about half the N that most indica strains like.

BB is a very phenotype dependent strain quality wise, from what I have found there are dozens of possible variations if not many more. This is a good and a bad thing depending upon what you are trying to accomplish. If you want to grow a homogenous clone like crop from seeds then BB is not the strain you want to choose. If you can buy at least 2 packs and have the patience and time to go through them all and look for the right parent female to clone from then you may very much like BB because it is a very high quality strain that can yield well in a short time and has excellent medical properties with notable anti-anxiety effects. (if you get the right plant) For the reasons listed above I have chosen Sweet Tooth from Spice of Life seeds over the BB as it seems to have all the same benefits as BB effect wise with an added extra special something from the SPG clone mother (excellent anti-depressant strain) plus is a much easier plant to work with and not prone to herm. If given the option between the two though I would definitely work with the DJ short line over the DP's limited genepool. But if you really want the best of both worlds and need the anti-anxiety effects with a far less picky plant try to find yourself some Sweet Tooth beans or a nice clone of it as it was fathered by a very special 1 in a million BB male that you would most likely not find no matter how many packs of the BB you bought. :)

I had great results with Joey Weed's Blueberry. It is supposedly f2s of some really nice DJ Short pheno's.

I would have got the original, I just didn't have the money at the time, and I also at the time heard Blueberry is a very finicky plant to grow, and didn't want to risk messing up such expensive seeds.

She has a very light appetite so don't over feed her.

Peace,

I ran JW's bb, because the guy is an ace you can always find a winner with his gear. Got four fems, all different, one is a fruity beauty, she was the weakest, and was almost culled more than once, reckon she will be with me for years now. JW's came from DP, but it is his selection you buy his beans for.

I kicked around bb genes last summer and had a great time! MF, F13, and a BB f5 that XyZ bred out from DJ's original stock. I still have a quarter sack of it that I keep on hand, as it may not be the best tasting weed I ever smoked, but it is very strong/good buZz weed.
I was very surprised with the potency of the BB that XyZ stabilized.
A good snag would be made if you see these up on SB again. I actually got mine as freebies from the bay. A very righteous move by the SB kats indeed!

Dutch Passion Blueberry

Dutch Passion Blueberry

Responded well to the LST with multiple side shoots.

Looked like a poison ivy plant during veg.

Ain't no strain historian, but it was good smoke and was an indestructible plant.

Where are they.....?
