im not sure its a good idea cause scavengers like racoons will most likley dig them up. i just stick with organic liquid fertilizers, and my only pest problem is deer.

You can do it in the fall and plant a fish per hole, 2 feet deep. Works better if you can protect the area, like fencing.

Ya bro i wouldn't use fish guts because of scavengers digging up your soil. I lost one of my Plants last year and all i did was use Blood Meal lol/

hey bigwity i would never do that because of the stench from decomp fish .Preadators from miles around will smell it . just pour a gallon of alaskan fish fertilizer in your hole, its like 18 bucks and no raunchy smell that will attract something.

I have seen fish guts used in soil before with great results. It's an old-school trick..

like others said, if out doors, make sure your plot is safe from animals who will want that fish!

10-10-10 commercial bag fertilizer.....about the end of june or so try a little 34-0-0 but just a little. And if ya want to get technical some 12-6-6 in august. Its just a weed and if you have the right outdoor strain it will perform like a champion with commercial fertilize so that you can let the fishes keep their inner parts....LOL...ol briar

I've used whole fish in my garden, just cut them up a bit and bury under the plant. I don't bother to let it sit, the indians didn't.

I have used it in a compost heap in a controlled situation in my yard and had no problems, however using it outdoors in a guerilla plot it could be dug up unless you use deterants. Just my 2 cents.

im in england guys so no pesky racoons are getting near my fishguts. and im burying them like 4 foot deep covering them up for a few months then planting in the soil above plus it would be easily in site of my browning 12 gauge so no critters will be safe digging up my girls

I put all my fishguts, old roots, grass cutting, some dog crap, anything that is organic and will brake down. I have 3 55 gal tanks that I have water and all my additives in and thats what i use to water all my girls. I never buy anything or use it if it is not organic. Been doing it for years and I always get very nice plants and smoke. I also make sure it is cut up very good so it will brake down faster. Than just mix and water...

It may be different in other places, but putting fish guts in a planting hole around here would be a garanteed fuckup. Coons, skunks , minks would dig the shit up before you got back to the car. Hell, ive never even been able to use simple organics like bone meal, etc.

The black bears around here would smell that from 5 miles away.
