Ebay Bubble Bag Trials

I recently purchased a 8 bag set of 1 gallon bubble bags for a very cheap price of ebay. I will be putting the bags to work this wknd. I will report back in this thread. Hopefully this will help anyone who was thinking of getting some of the ebay bags.

Well I did a run today. Ran about half my bag of trim so im guessing around 70 maybe 80 grams or so of leaf and trim. I dont think I had enough ice in there. I will definatly put some more in next time. I gave it a good stir with a wooden spoon for about 15-20 mins. Then left it to settle for 40 mins. The stuff is still drying as we speak so I dont have any weights yet. Yield is pretty tiny by the looks of it but I wasnt expecting that much. It was pretty poor quality trim. I got a little bit out of all the bags. Didnt really get anything from the 45 bag though. I will report back some more once the stuff has dryed.

Pretty damn small eh!! Havent smoked any yet. I will let you know when I do.

There are a bunch of threads on ebay bubble bags. I am pretty sure all of the cheap knock offs are TERRIBLE quality. They are made in china and the micron sizes aren't even accurate or consistent. A member here (vorsprung of sprung bags) took zoomed in pictures of a few different brands to show this. Also the stitching is often very weak and bags break very easily. The quality of the materials going into the product are cheap and so is the labor. The result: cheap/poor product!

I hope you have better luck with yours though, seriously.

Sprung bags if still in business are a very good deal. Similar quality to the real bubble bag set for substantially cheaper. Around 80 IIRC.

Yeah the yield was pretty bad. This was my first time making bubble hash. Im not blaming it on the bags though. They seem to have done what they were supposed to. As I stated earlier the quality of the material used was very poor and yes there were a few stems in there. It was mainly fan leafs and a little bit of trim, virtually nothing with visible trichomes on it. The quality of the bags seems just fine to me. No complaints as of yet!

I did the rest of the trim so the total yield from 171gs of trim was:

20m:0.14
45m:0.07
75m:0.19
90m:0.13
120m:0.15

I also smoked sampled them all tonight. I thought the 75 was the best. the 160 and 190 were just sediment from the leaf im pretty sure didnt really do anything. I would really like to try these bags with some bud and try and get some fmcd hash. This leaf hash doesnt bubble at all!!

Jeez, I just ordered a set of the 30 gallon bags. I hope your yield is like you say, from the trim quality and not the bag quality some how letting all the hash through.... That would be scary. I've got some bomb trim I'll be running either monday or tuesday... Will post pics when I do....

Is a kitchen hand mixer good enough or do you need a paint/cement mixer of some sort?

I used a wooden spoon because I heard the end product would be of a higher quality.

most people do 2 runs one with the spoon for quality and the second you beat the shit out of and get all thats left
