American Food Sucks!

First off let me start by saying I am from the USA.
The point Im getting at, is that over the last year I have seen a steady decline in the food in my local market. Pretty much right around the time the economy colapsed the food grade started to slide.
I have notice this the most in the quality of sandwich meat, cuts of meat from the butcher and produce.

Im wondering if this is strictly local problem or if this is more wide spread. I know our local farmers have had a rough last couple of years, partner that with stores struggle to keep prices low.

I've noticed the deli sliced lunch meat of good quality is hard to find. No matter what brand I go with, there is always gristle or excessive gelatin in it.

If you have access to a renovated Kroger, they have Boars Head that is fine quality. It will cost you a few dollars more, almost 2x as much, but its the only quality lunch meat I've found.

There is a company out of s.carolina (I think) that makes lunch meat and it has been acceptable. Heritage Farm, I think is the name.

I like turkey sandwiches for lunch.

I workout, eat right and have a high metabolism so I eat whatever the fuck I want without worry. I love me some fat greasy bacon cheeseburgers and greasy ass pizza once in awhile.

But yeah, most food is shit. That's why I kill + eat Deer and Turkeys when hunting and catch Flounder, Rockfish + Perch to eat when fishing.
Not to mention I grow my own veggies, because store bought veggies are pure shit taste wise.

I guess I was pretty vague, I mean food that I bought in an American grocery store . I'm not trying to start a debate, I'm just wondering if others have experienced a decline in the quality of the food sold in the USA.

i go to the supermarket regularly, for work, and for my own needs, this includes BJ's wholesale and Shop Rite, basically, the only decline i have noticed is in lunchmeat, same thing??? doesn't last long in a fridge and it starts wreaking after a week in my professional sub-zero giant of a fridge.... steaks and seafood are the same as a while ago. vegetables and produce in general suck at supermarkets. so i go to genardi's or wegman's for the organic stuff, and all my funky cheeses. boars head is quality lunchmeat imo. plus i have a local butcher who roasts his own turkey breasts and slices them up.... mmmm. they make me sleepy.
