What's new

question for the af experts lol

ive got these 2 easyryders that were planted on 4/22. one is a total female the other is a self topping mutant hermi that smells way nicer than the other girl at 1/3 the size, spotted one ball yesterday on about the 4th node or atleast thats what i think it is. pretty sure i caused the hermi as i was having some trouble with my soil mix having dry spots even when soaked so i removed pretty much all the soil or as much as i could get outa the roots and replanted. replant was about a week ago or so. generally how long till the sack opens up and releases pollen. would it be ok to just let nature take its course and pollenate the other for more seeds. or should i collect the pollen and pollenate manually? or is it just a bad idea to use this pollen in the first place? also have never done any breeding before so all help is appreciated. also there are 2 non autos in the cab veggin until the easyryders are done. will this pollen mess with them at all. anyway to keep them pollen free without moving them outa the cab? tia

If you caused the stress that hermired her (and it sounds like you did lol) go ahead and use it, put them next to each other with the fan on and let him do his thing, or collect it and paint it on the hairs whichever you want to do, maybe a bit of both ;)

If it just hermied on its own I wouldnt use it, however if it the only chance you have to get yourself some beans then go for it, just be very carefull with the offspring and only carry on breeding with the ones that dont hermie (if any do) you will also have to be on gaurd 24/7 checking for sac's incase you get one that seeds your crop.

Ive had balls drop pollen anywhere from 3-10 days after they first appear, depends on strain, lights/enviroment.

I wouldn't pollinate with the hermi, rather let the hermi pollinate self. You'll be left with hermi and female seeds without ruining your female. If you want to make all female seeds, then you could try CS (colloidal Silver) on the female to have it produce its own seeds. Some say that hermi pollen is fine for making seeds, though I don't agree with this. I prefer having more stable genetics with 100% female seeds rather than have the potential for hermis.

There is also the possibility that the plant is only a male, not a hermi. If you can post some pics so we can be sure.

I would either pull the hermi out, or put a bag over it when it starts to release pollen.

thnks, im pretty sure i caused the hermi but i really didnt have a choice to repot and remove soil cuz she was going down hill quickly cuz of the soil. it showed pistals at like 18days with zero signs of male parts until like 2days ago which would be around 30ish days. was def 100% female until the emergency repot. i guess i could make a ghetto cab just for the hermi and let it self pollinate cuz i would hate to ruin my non autos with seeds

if i put a bag over it do i need to put any holes so it gets some fresh air? or could i just toss the lil biotch outside to leave to its own devices?

I'd just throw it outside if you haven't killed it yet, it would still produce decent bud and you could give the seeds away or just throw them out some where secluded.
