Ventilation questions....

I need to figure out how I am going to vent my grow, and was hoping to get some help from you guys. I'm setting up a 4x8 tent with 1000w light in it. I have the xxxl 8" reflector and the 8" can fan max. I can vent the heat out the stack where the furnace and hot water heater goes, but I dont know where to pull the cool air from. the laundry room is right next to the room where the tent will be, so I was going to just pull air from in there through the light and out the chimney stack. The only thing that worries me with that, It seems like I will suck all the A/c right out of the house. I cant do that. There is a window in the laundry room but I cant really use it because the neighbors have a clear view right @ that window. Does anyone know of some type of stealth set up, where I could use this window to pull air, but when people look at the window they are none the wiser. Ideas appreciated.
Thanks

You could try using a window fan to mask the ducting but if the outside air is 80-90 degrees youll still have issues. People have also used window planters to hide it.

You could use a smaller fan to vent the light, ive used a suncourt 6in booster($20), if the ambient air is cool enough. and use your can fan for filtering.

if its a storm window, like what you find in a basement you could do what i do. you put one these http://www.windowbubble.com/ on or over the the window, then you dig a trench so you can put the venting hose in, make it how ever long it needs to be then lead it to a dog house built just for that purpose of venting you grow room

if your house has air conditioning, i would vent into your tent from the indoor air, into a carbon scrubber, through the light, and then out side.

ilovethewest- yeah but wont that suck all my a/c right out of the house. I saw a thermostatic fan speed controller that might help with this though. What do you think?

i have never seen a thermostatic speed controller. i have seen thermostats and speed controllers in separate devices. i have a twenty dollar speed controller, a piece of shit, dont use it at all, except as a circuit breaker lol. it makes my fan (and other peoples fans) buzz, in a really annoying way. so what my opinion is: since your venting out of a chimney it sounds like, in a different room, sounds like the air is going to travel at least 12 feet through an 8inch tube. probably more, with a grip of bends and shit i bet. that is going to slow down your air flow quite a bit. not to worry, you over killed it with your fan. you didnt mention a carbon scrubber or a co2 unit, so im assuming you dont have either. if you have a scrubber i would vent like this. carbon scrubber, 8 inch fan, ducting, 1000w light, ducting to out vent. i really dont think its going to suck all the air conditioning out of your house, but i could be wrong. this is a really hard thing for me to explain. basically it boils down to pressure and how this equipment works. try using passive vents and keeping the room air conditioned with the central air, always sucking air from the room into the tent, and if its really heating the house up, and making the air conditioner run way too much, then figure something new out. i have great faith that this will work for you, it works for me. and in the winter that will heat the house up very nicely. that is how my room works. the vent that used to vent inside the house, hot air coming off the lights, that now gets vented out side as it will get my house up to 100 degrees in the spring with this, but that vent hole is still there, and now the cold air from my house gets passively vented (sucked) into my grow room, as there is negative pressure from my fan in there. thats why i can say i understand this, but am having trouble explaining why this will work. give me some rep if it works, and hit me back if it doesn't.
