Highlighter Thanks for the good wishes....I hate the back breaking work but at the end of the season when i look at all the plants my face just lights up....Then i think about trimming :(.....

These highends are growing so much faster than everything else that was started at the same time that it seems weird to me as i know it to be slow in veg....Thats kinda the reason i put those first 2 out already and might have to plant the rest before the weekend...

Looking good mate. Growing directly in bottles looks smart. Like a minigreenhouse i guess. Never thought of that, maybe I'll try it next year.

Warm welcome to ya Bom....Glad u love regular gardens like me as living on the east coast things are pricey and with GMO's not being labeled i try to grow as much of my own food as i can and i buy local produce too when i can...

About the potato's now...You want to cut them to have 2-3 eyes then your gona have to put them some where dark like a cardboard box so they can make a scab at the cut...

U can leave them in the box till your ready to plant...This will more then double your money as i still have extras that i'm gona plant out in the wild somewhere...

If u don't mind me asking...How's the laws over there? Are the people friendly?

Drop by and post pics when u can...Stay safe

Thx for advice.:thank you: I'll chop em' tonight man. Having a little tractor problems, so the field won't be ready in a couple of weeks anyway.

I like growing my own stuff aswell. Have kids, and I want to give them as "clean" food as I can. No artificial fertilizers in my field.....

The laws are kinda strict. As long as you don't sell, you won't go to jail, so i guess it's not too bad. The thing that sucks most with beeing caught is that you can't enter the US of A. though.

People are friendly. 90 % speak good English. But Norwegians are generally shy and not very outgoing. The Vermonters(where I spent a year) kind of reminded me of Norwegians actually. There are more Norwegians living in America than in Norway, so Americans are always very welcome here. "Everybody" has relatives in America. The country is sparsely popuplated, so outdoor sports is pretty popular. I snowboard, surf and hike alot myself.

Here is a pic of my indoor vegging place. Looks like a mess right now, but I'm sure some of it will grow into something good.....

Guerrilla top tip...All ways be on the look out for free shit u can use...

........

I got another one for you:

Don't let your stuff laying around while working the spot...you won't be able to hide it quick enough if and when you get a fly over.
Cover it with a camo net.

Sounds like paranoia or maybe overdoing it?

You'll find out the first time you'll have to rush.

:)

Bom Thanks for info bro....I hate the cold too much to even try snowboarding lol....I've been to all the states on the east coast except Vermont but figure they are just as nice as people in NH or Maine...

You should try to start a few in the bottles even now...I picked the idea up in a garden magazine called "Maximum Yield" the article was called winter sowing...

I can see that some of your potato's are already growing too cool shit bro...

StrainHunter Thanks for the concern...That level of paranoia has been gone for me along time ago as i have planes flying over me every 5-10 min and i've flown all over my area with my pilot friend so i know my area really well but if i had to rush things would be packed up pretty fast, trust me nobody wants to be more free than me...

He he. When it's cold and the kids don't wanna go outside I tell them there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing.......

I think i have started too many seeds already.... Don't wanna dig more holes i think.....
Deffinatly a cool idea though. Did you start them directly in soil or did you "help" them to sprout first?

Catch ya on the flip side.....

Bom There's no such thing as starting too many seeds in time u will learn that lol....Now diggin more holes now thats another story...

Everything was started directly in the soil directly outside....I never baby seedlings or try to help them at all lol....The only time i try to help is if something went wrong...

ropeThanks for dropping in...Nothing speaks to me better than free...

A little update...The highend F2 #3 were grwoing so fast in the bottles that i had to take the top off today and boy do they look good :dance013:

Since i was taking the top of those off i said to myself might as well take the top off the other bagseeds......

He he. I probably will. So much going on with different plants, and life in general this spring though. No more planting i think.

I have always used the papertowelmethod myelf, but this year I put about half of the seeds directly in soil, and germ rates were almost as good. The "feeling" was better though, so I guess my papertowelgermingdays are over.....

Looks like a lot of white spots on those leaves, or is it something else?

Later man!

coxswain Thanks for dropping a line bro...I try to have as much fun as i can as too many people are serious nowadays...

Bom My paper towel days have been long gone for years now lol..You will get better with popping them this way just tell yourself that........The white spots is just the flash hitting the rain drops as it was raining the last 2 days...

cro_guerilla I'll try to take some better pics when i plant again...

So was thinking about making some fermented plant extracts to feed the plants over the summer plus it's been awhile since i made anything so i got off my ass and made some...

The first one i made is just nettles...

Then this one is nettles, clover, dandelions and a just past ripe banana....

I'll update on those in 7 days..If anybody wants to learn more on FPE check this thread out..... Fermented plant extracts

Nice man. Funny thing, I did this last year, but only used it on flowers in the garden.

I have this garden book though, and just the other day I read that if you use nettles and let it lay for 2 days, U can use it as Nitrogen Fert. If you let it lay for a two weeks you can use the extracts and spray them on the plants, this will prevent lice and other harmful insects that are feeding of the plant.

This sounds very interesting, cause I guess weedplants needs alot of N. in veg.
Also cheap, and it's always very satisfiying to make stuff oneself instead of purchasing it.

I will try to it later. The nettles have just started to grow here.....

Good job mate, and good link. Will try to read more of it later.

Look into Russian Comfrey.

There is so much to say about it (depending on what you want to use it for) that I suggest you Google it yourself...you won't regret it!

A quick run down:

You can use the Russian Comfrey plant as for great mulch, soil amendment, compost activator, fertilizer, pest control and more!

Best of all it grows great everywhere, no matter where you plant it!

Again Google "Russian Comfrey" and when you go to pictures and see the one I posted below read the link behind it. (Management on here does not like direct crosslinking to another weed forum)

Some guy within that link is using it for his MJ garden!

Hay!

Nice garden you have there.
And thank you for FPE thread.
I'm growing biological. for the moment just using potting soil, guano (batshit) and wormcompost (wormshit).
I will use some of those recepies for sure! Friend of mine was asking for biological ways to prevent and/or get rid of plant pests and diseases, so this thread is exactly what he needs.
I made a grow report. Growing some other stuff to :)

Hope to see you there!
I will come and check some time here for sure :tiphat:

Bom I have a thirst for knowledge and love making things with my 2 hands so i'll always be making something all the time lol..... Your strawberry field really looks like shit lol but i know you'll get to it one day...Here's a wave back at ya

StrainHunter I read up on Russian Comfrey a few years ago but my problem with it was A.I have to grow it B.It's one more thing to take up my time...C.Theres other things out in the wild thats just as good that i don't have to grow...Plus i try to stick to things i can just get or have on hand....I'll have to try it out one day tho...

Z!on Thanks for stopping in...your off to a great start it's really rewarding when you make your own stuff...I'll be watching your thread...good luck and stay safe...

I've been busy as hell it was a heavy weekend wish i had some smoke but i've been out for about 3-4 weeks now and refuse to take anything from friends....

On to the big update....

We'll start off with what i found taking an alternate route to my "grave yard madness spot" i found somethings that just saddens my heart....

As u can see it seems a lazy grower got rid of his gear...

I got to the "GYM" spot and planted 4 bozo fem beans...

This ones for u cro_guerilla .....I cut the top off

Then i cut the bottom off and place it in the hole...

Then i push the plant out take the sticker off and put my copper tape on then i'm done..

I dug a grave size hole before i left this spot...

After all this....Wen't to go check on my garden to see how things were
going and found out that they had to put up a new fence so there was foot steps all over...The potato's are doing good but everything else we'll just have to see...

I wen't to go see a good friend over the weekend to get some of there awesome compost and fresh eggs...They have to best compost i've ever gotten before and they don't even have a garden...They got a horse and chickens...There very down to earth people...Here's the pile before i got any...

This is the dent i put in the pile after some hard work....

The car all filled up...

Now all this compost was for the new garden i made over the weekend...Working on it...

Then she's all done....

I' also went out to plant up my "Eye of the beholder" spot and "Harvester of sorrow"....

I'll start with EOTB"...I put 6 bagseed there so that spot is all done for now...

Then at "HOS" i put 6 highend f2 #3 and 9 bagseed....

Last but not least i made a raised bed for some beans the other day and there coming up nicely....There's Green bush beans and Purple bush beans...The middle is the green and the outside left and right is the purple...

Thats it's for now stay safe out there guys...
