Thanx guys. Scrub I'm trying to use the ccfl case for making seeds right now but I don't know if it will work out. The plant I was spraying with cs is covered in nanners, but not really dropping pollen like a normal male does. The pollen sacks just kinda dry up and die without opening so I've been manually opening them and trying to pollinate.

CB1- the led light is from hydrogrow.

here's some macros of the dried buds from above.

Nice. Hey man did you work it out? I gave you the pic code for the old gallery sorry. With the normal gallery it's &thumb=1 that you delete.

It's normal the CS flowers don't open but actually getting pollen is a bit hit and miss it seems. If you got any visible pollen, you did better than me! I started using jump117's methods this last time and it was all going good until the plant died from something else. Filtering the stuff and running it several times to concentrate it and get high PPMs seems like a good idea. On my first attempt, I just gathered all the flowers and sift/shook them all over the plant. I found like 4 or 5 hollow white seeds. I think the plant I used had sterility issues.

Thanks Scrub! :respect: sorry I forgot to say thanks...yeh I got the pics working by manually removing just the "thumb" text.

The cs treatments seemed to work pretty good then I guess...tons of dried pollen sacks..and sometimes they'll produce a little puff of pollen if I hold them with tweezers over the bud and flick it. I sprayed them for about 2 weeks in veg...soaking the plant and the surface of the soil. Then I threw it into flower and it was showing tons of sacks in about a week. I still have half a sprayer of cs still...I need to use it up! hehe. I really need to make a little pollen sifter....

Oh and it looks like some of the cs'd pollen took to the fem I hit it with..which are both in my ccfl box atm, but I plan on building a breeding box of sorts soon and they will be moved into it. I don't think the ccfls produce enough light to make very good seeds.

ummm hmmm...oh yeh I bought a kill-A-watt this thing is badass..but after testing everything I'm just kinda gonna be like "now wtf do I do with this thing?" maybe I'll sell it after I've tested everything I need to lol. wattages are as follows.

cloner speaker- 23w cfl, 1 pc fan @12v, small airpump = 20watts?!

PC veg box-70w cfl, 4 pc fans @ 12v. = 80watts

ccfl pc- 6x12"ccfl lights, 2 pc fans @6v = 25watts

desk- 4x 26w cfls, 1 pc fan@12v,1 pc fan @ 6v =105watts

400w phillips cmh running on an advancetechlighting ballastkit = 430watts (I'm going to blow a fan at the ballast and retest eventually)

homedepot 6"`~250cfm inline booster =22watts

...that's all I've tested so far, but I still need to do the ngb and my other speaker box. I was surprised at some of the results. like the speakerbox being only 20 watts? ...also I figured the small pc fans + dc inverter would use more watts.

anyways here's some pic updates for you all...

^^my new scrog.

^^ngb stuffs..

^^desk stuffs.

umm yep. questions and comments are welcome and stuff, and let me know if you want to see anything specific. :tiphat:

.....annndddd....dried weight on this one...
was 1.5 oz....not too shabby, probably coulda gone another 2 weeks too.

till next time..

Nice one bro. About the kill-a-watt, I haven't used one but there are issues involved with measuring electricity, at least for shitty Aussie versions. Just a guess but it looks to me like you/the meter haven't taken power factor into account. Depends what figure you want to know, I guess, but I would be more interested in the total amount coming in (and contributing to heat) whereas if I understand right, that is just showing how much you pay on your bill (there's a difference) - and even that's inaccurate if we take into account the post I linked. By all means, google it to get a better explanation. :)

Thats interesting stuff Scrub, but for my simple stuff it works pretty good. I was hoping it would be pretty straightforward but electric stuff always confuses me.

Welcome Thundurkle :tiphat: Its weird to think that about a year ago I was growin in a pc with 2 x 23 watt cfls and no fans, and now I'm gonna be running 2 x 400w cmh and all this other stuffs too. this growing shit is addicting!

Thanks Cheese...best of luck with your new cheese grow.

Yep, you know you got it bad when you keep running your micro stuff even after you have HIDs!

Very nice setups!

Are you finding the LEDs burn plants that have been vegged under it?

My plants have grown up pretty close and *knock on wood* I'm not seeing any burning.

no Scrub those are actually still 4x 26w cfls...I've been planning on putting 2 x 55w ppl's in htere, but I'm kind of a slacker lol.

Hi Blynx  thanks!

With the leds ...when I first got them I moved 2 kinda bushy plants under one. They had been growing under ~25w per sq foot of cfls. They got burnt real bad right away (like 12 hours) and they were about 5 inches away. I got real worried and didn't let them get close to the lights again till recently. It seems now they can get to that 5 inch and even 4 inch mark and not get burned for a day or 2...maybe those first plants just couldn't handle the difference, also they had pretty big leaves too...bigger than any of the current leaves in there.
I let the plants get up to about 5" away before I readjust..sometimes I see just a few burn spots, but they develop lightburn much slower then those first 2 plants did.

pic update. day one of 12/12 under the 400. BMR(a&b), SS, NH, OGbs.~85

right side of ngb cab @~day 35...the strawberry haze stretched well for the first 2-3 weeks. ssh didn't stretch for ~2-3 weeks, still stretching....ss is ~1 week behind.~80

Hi everyone.............. *crickets*

here's some more pics n stuff.

Filling up quick! day 7 of 12/12 BMR(a&b), SSx2, NH, OGbs. +1ss~12"

and the ngb...@~40 days

the strawberry hazes' pistils start turning orange about 4 weeks into flower..it's still growing and not nearly finished, just kinda interesting. This is the first strain I've grown that had hairs turning orange/brown so early..pretty cool looking. I'll try to get some quality pics soon.

Hardly any frost on the sh still, the ssh is just barely starting to form buds and trics. The super skunk plant I put in about 10 days later is packed with frost and has bulked up well under the leds (better then under my cfl's in my desk cab I'd say). You can see the super skunk plant kinda sticking up in the back right of the pic. +hotshot thingie in the back for good measure.

Thanks everyone!

pic update. :bump:

superskunk@47 (cfl)

ss51,bmr31,desk,og15,cheese42,bmr51 (all cfl)
same ole same ole...hehe.

the hazes that were flowering under the LEDs got relocated to the CMH...they were just getting too damn big for that little cabinet. The superskunk plant remains under the led so i can compare yield/quality to my cfl buds and cmh buds...I'll be sure to give smoke reports for the 3 different lights since I have the same strain under all 3 with same soil/nutes.

The superskunk under the LEDs is looking great btw..maybe not quite as frosty as under my cfls but yield looks a little bigger...I'll try to remember to take comparison shot of the led vs cfl plant..I should have 2 ready at about the same time I thinks..

:jump:life is good.

pic update

ss under the led @ ~54days

ssLED, LED,LED,800wcmh,800wcmh,800wclose up(ss/bmr),OGbs@24,slh@54.

got something weird going on with one of my super lemon hazes. Some kinda weird excretion, looks almost like bulbous trics but doesn't smell at all. I'm guessing it's just a genetic thing and it's secreting some kinda sap or something. (last thumb)

closer still....:jump: thanx for stopping by. :thank you:

Wow wow wow, that looks SUPER! I have a Super Lemon Haze seed here, will follow how it goes. Maybe it is excreting THC sap? That would be something! :)
