I know this is not technically MMJ related, but these are the same teams that are busting into legal patient's homes with the exact same mentality. I can't really say much more on this now...

Police in Detroit, Michigan, on Sunday expressed "profound sorrow" at the fatal shooting of a 7-year-old girl in a police raid.

Aiyana Jones was shot and killed by police executing a search warrant as part of a homicide investigation, Assistant Chief Ralph Godbee said in a statement.

"This is any parent's worst nightmare," Godbee said. "It also is any police officer's worst nightmare. And today, it is all too real."

The warrant was executed about 12:40 a.m. ET Sunday at a home on the city's east side, Godbee said. Authorities believed the suspect in the Friday shooting death of 17-year-old high school student Jarean Blake was hiding out at the home. Blake was gunned down in front of a store as his girlfriend watched, Godbee said.

Preliminary information indicates that members of the Detroit Police Special Response Team approached the house and announced themselves as police, Godbee said, citing the officers and at least one independent witness.

"As is common in these types of situations, the officers deployed a distractionary device commonly known as a flash bang," he said in the statement. "The purpose of the device is to temporarily disorient occupants of the house to make it easier for officers to safely gain control of anyone inside and secure the premise."

Upon entering the home, the officer encountered a 46-year-old female inside the front room, Godbee said. "Exactly what happened next is a matter still under investigation, but it appears the officer and the woman had some level of physical contact.

"At about this time, the officer's weapon discharged one round which, tragically, struck 7-year-old Aiyana Stanley Jones in the neck/head area."

The girl was immediately transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Godbee said he and other officers went to the hospital while others stayed at the home to execute the warrant.

Aiyana's father, Charles Jones, told CNN affiliate WDIV, "She was sleeping and they came in the door shooting and throwing flash grenades ... burned my baby up and shot her, killed her."

this is...

getting absolutely ridiculous! i just finally watched the raid where they shoot the dog. and i can honestly say this has gotten me pretty pissed off/upset. this shit has got to stop. unfortunately they come into these houses for other reasons, like murder. and come out empty handed besides another dead human being.
i can point blame at the people who create these situations for themselves as well. but jesus christ. this shit needs to stop.

I don't see what the harm is in just surrounding the place, and telling them on a loud speaker to come out or were coming in, give them a chance at least to say hey, there's kids in here, were coming out.

If the place is surrounded, where are they going to go?
Dig a hole to china?

I think when you know for sure who all is in the house, and you have tried every other option to get them to surrender peacefully, then you can kick the door.

Come on guys all those cops had to fight a 46 year old lady I'm surprised they didn't have to blow up the whole neighborhood to get them think about a 7 yr old and and older lady I'm surprised they didn't have to call in the national guard. I say we need to get a firing squad to put some of these cops out of there misery that is after we torure them for week or so. Fucking bull shit.

So get this, "The First 48" was there filming for their show and they have footage that shows the cops are lying about how it happened.

DETROIT - An attorney for the family of a 7-year-old girl slain during a weekend raid at their Detroit home says video footage contradicts the police department's version of events.

Geoffrey Fieger said Monday that footage shot by the A&E crime-reality show "The First 48" shows that police fired into the home at least once after lobbing a flash grenade through a window.

He says that contradicts the police department's explanation that an officer's gun fired during a confrontation with a resident inside the home. Seven-year-old Aiyana Jones was shot in the neck and died."

DF it wasn't a drug raid, it was a homicide investigation! Of course this doesn't change the fact that many cops thinks they are part of an elite Special Forces unit, when in reality they are a bunch of poorly trained goons who frequently show very poor judgment.

This is murder...

This is murder...

When will people wake up to the fact that the STATE itself and their enforcers are the enemy? They are thugs and murderers. Sorry but i have a hard time believing the gun went off and shot her in the head... and even if it did, that murderer is responsible.

I posted this link somewhere else as well but if you guys don't know Judge Andrew Napolitano, you should. He is fucking solid... Listen to his take on the Columbia, Mo raid:

You can skip through the douchebag being interviewed but at least listen to Napolitano's comments.

And don't judge him by his network; he rocks!

These "gentlemen" would never have such brass balls if they were in Mexico entering a house full of Zetas (armed with AK's ,granades.... and cocked the hell out...)

Nah... they are cowards!

Pennsivainya cops are being sued for writing tickets and arresting people that swear.

The whole mentality of the police now is they are "Law Enforcement" as opposed to "officers of the court".

Enforcement means guilty cause I say you are. Peace officer is nothing more than a vehicle to the Judge who is supposed to handle the "judgement" part.

We would be better served by the f%^&^% Army. At least they are actually speacial forces and not reject wanna bee's.

They made the father lay face down in his daughters blood... traumatized doesn't even come close to what happened to that family.

Where are the asshats that fire-bombed the dispensaries in Montana with the "not in our town" paint? Would this be o.k in their town?
You bet cha' ;)

All they will have to do is pay $.... what will that do to help?

all cops in the united states have a license to kill. they are extremely dangerous and out of control. once they are commissioned it is nearly impossible to prosecute them for anything.

i've always thought it strange that if you have a felony conviction on your record, you are not eligible to become a police officer. yet, after being hired, when they get caught stealing, assaulting, battering, etc...if they get into any trouble at all, its usually just "time off" with or without pay. for a really serious crime they might lose a rank and be reassigned to desk duty for a certain time. but mostly they get away with all the crimes they commit. so, you're a criminal and unfit to serve if you're found guilty of a felony prior to placing your application, but after you become a cop its ok to commit felonies routinely. that's just the way it is.

cops are out of control. anyone want to bet if this cop in detroit will lose his job? is criminally prosecuted? will ever go to jail if he is convicted? i'd bet no to these questions.
