Profiling postal packages.

Also, pack that shit in glass. A zip or two fits well in a jar that holds 16 fluid ounces. Wrap said glass in foil, double-bag in two sealable baggies, place in a box, make sure it's padded well enough that it doesn't rattle around. Then place the box in a sealable gallon bag. Tape the bejesus out of it BEFORE putting it in the final mailing parcel--whose label should be either typed or very neatly printed. May sound like extreme prophylactics, but it's worked for me many, many times, and you can't argue with success. There are easily 7-10 layers between the product and the postal handlers with my packages. They look and smell completely innocent.

I'm around, I'm well. I just figured what is the point in sharing and referencing enormous amounts of detailed information when no one bothers to read it in the first place, and people post things to the contrary despite never learning about the topic they speak of, let alone, as is always the case, reading the thread they post in to start with......

I'm good though, thanks for asking.

Inspectors recently came across cans that appeared to be "Teasdale" canned corn. But when inspectors cracked the cans open, there wasn't corn inside. Instead, they found bags of marijuana. The smugglers heat sealed the drugs in bags, ensured the weight was the same as what was listed on the can, and used a can sealer to mask the smell.

God damn...

Julian, I'm curious, where do you source all these news links? Google? Check news sites everyday? Or do you got like a marijuana interdiction news feed jawn...?

You see that?........vacuum sealed, specific weights, and canning machine....

I thought the system regarding analysis of zip codes was pretty interesting also....

Virtually every piece of information ever written is at our fingertips as we speak :smoke:.....truly amazing isn't it? :smoke:

Came across something fairly interesting regarding FedEx.....let me hit the timer and see how long it takes me to find it again :smoke: Well.......was 24 seconds, but all the stories I am finding do not have the shipping and investigation specifics listed in earlier stories :smoke: They've been removed....Hmm :smoke:...(I'm going to go back and go over though and try and find it, as was worthy of mention regarding FedEx procedures and operations :smoke:

The greater knowledge and information comes in the form of asking why/how.

Anything and everything you ever pondered for a moment is readily answered almost 24/7 with a little work :smoke:

Was talking to someone this week about parcel interdiction.....

Here's a fun one: Google "parcel interdiction classes" and go through the results that come up....look at the classes....read the resumes of the instructors.....

Such will further illustrate to one it is indeed, a very old, and very large industry...

I'm going to include something from a recent case below, and only include the relevant parts...(The reason being, people always focus on certain specifics, and miss what is actually important :smoke:)

FedEx officials say that all packages are scanned at the point of departure, with the contents being fully identified.

In addition, the U.S. parcel delivery firm loaned its uniforms to law enforcement officials to disguise themselves as employees in order to allow them to approach the suspects without raising suspicions.

She said FedEx has a strict detection system and is less frequently used for drug smuggling. The cargo company did not reveal specific scanning methods or the rate of finding illegal items.

For example........(this stuff is "fun" to me.....)

The above says they don't go into it. Okay, sure, whatever you say.:smoke:

So then you move to, say.......maybe....who handles and provides FedEx security? :smoke:

And then you come across their security protocols

Highlight is this:
A conveyor x-ray machine manufactured by EG&G Astrophysics allows all packages and bags to get similar scrutiny.

“It's a very technically-advanced x-ray, which can look for organic and inorganic substances. We can see, for example, plastic explosives or plastic guns,” Finck says.

Anyway....

Have a warrant going to post when get a chance. People might not realize that upon package being pulled, their on a total background, criminal, local check within 5 minutes. (Joe blow, this residence, this license, this state, these priors, these vehicles, these past residences, this employment, this criminal record, and so on......for both names on package. If either fake?, well, then they just proceed further knowing they're right. Includes of course as in previous documentation, checking with local PO and even carrier with questions about occupants, delivery history, questions regarding property and personal matters, and so on....Yes, delivery history. As in earlier cases, certain things remain in history...ie: Your getting a weekly package?,may very well be a record of it for a year, maybe more, etc....which again just strengthens suspicions, and, worse case scenario, their case of a larger conspiracy. (So much for the defense of "just once"....)

Gotta do something if they're waiting for a dog, right?...:smoke:

a great thread, but playing the victim card is unbecoming. Let people ignore it if they choose too.

Since the start of this thread I have personal knowledge of 6 people arrested due to matters contained. (Largest being about 25-30 p's, N-S)

Each and every instance those were textbook cases. (ie: They did everything wrong from start to finish)

The victims are those who enter an endeavor without proper preparation and knowledge.

Yeah, UPS rocks.

Good thread. No doubt.

Little better though if one reads it.

Link addressing DEA conducting their parcel interdiction training at UPS facilities was petty cool too. :smoke:

This can be useful when shipping usps.

http://www.usps.com/shippingassistant/instructions.htm

It allows you to print official USPS shipping labels with delivery conformation right from your computer at home without assigning a name or credit card to the account. You simply fill out the senders and receivers info then print an official usps label, Then you take the parcel to the local office and you can pay cash for the postage. Some gas stations and grocery stores have this service available. When you set up a account to pay for postage online with USPS they want you to only ship priority which may or may not wind up on an airplane which is bad (X-RAY)... SO this program alows you to print an official label parcel post with delivery conformation. Avoiding some of the profiling and airplanes

Also when using a mailbox service ex (UPS STORE) to receive packages using usps delivery conformation. It is best to let the boxes cool off for 3 or so days in the store before picking them up. COps are very anxious to make a bust, after sitting in the parking lot for the first day waiting for someone to pick them up they will go in and have the store call the box holder to try an entice them to pick up thier package.

Ex "Hello mr x This is mmm from the UPS store I just wanted to let you know you have a parcel that needs to be picked up asap because we need the room in our office""

Total red flag. This is code for " The cops are here please pick up ur weed so they can bust you"

Afrer 2 days of waiting around and noone shows to pick up the box the will take it and have them leave a dectivies card in your box to let you know they got it....

True story this has happened more than once shipping out of maybee the hottest spot in the US SW to SE

They must have a horseshoe up their ass because they were around 9/10 success rate. Lost a few here and there even got a box of bricks in place of the contents (still trying to figure that one out) otherwise still profitable

This device can easily be placed in any parcel along with a couple lantern batteries to run it for a week. You can track your own package via google SMS and GPS. Using magnetic switches on the box that breaks when opened. So you know if when and where the box has been opened immediatly via sms. Even microphones to listen in on your box when if it was opened However when this is placed in an x-ray it looks like a bomb rigged to blow when it is opened.

You can buy prepaid att sim cards to run the whole system incognito .

I probably shouldn't be sharing this info but
