Welcome to lurkers and posters alike.
I am starting my outdoor thread for 2010 to chronicle hopefully a year's worth of medical cannabis supply. I am authorized to grow 18 mature plants by my doctor's exception to the ab420 guidelines that were set by the AG, and even though they have been found unconstitutional, I will be keeping the number of mature plants at 18 just to be sure to have no LEO problems.
So far, 3 plants are in the ground put into holes filled with an organic mix of native soil, my neighbor's composted horse poop, peat, coco, Kellogg's organic amendment mix from Home DePot, gypsum, dolomite lime, perlite, sand, rooters bacteria, and whatever else the wind blows in. Chicken wire went in the hole first on the one where gophers are known to frequent, hoping the other 2 are gonna be okay without the gopher basket, because I have not seen any holes there for the last 7 years or so.
Nirvana Wonder Woman was the first in the dirt.
followed by a freebie Pineapple Express
and an Indica Mix plant that is either Herijuana, Anesthesia, or Jackberry
Other plants that I plan to put in the dirt are still being acquired/pre-vegged and include White Russian, bagseed-Bubba, Purple Lady, Afghan x NYCD, New Citral City, Original Haze x Skunk #1, Callaway Blue, and some testers called Turloco - a cross of GHS White Rhino x (Bubba x Og) coming from JackTheGrower
Watering to date has been with tap that comes out of the hose at 440ppm then run through a 5 gallon bucket filter made of t-shirts, se30 sand, and charcoal before going into the ground. Ppm was lowered to 285ish by the bucket filter. The bag of sand said it may contain free silica, so I probably won't have to supplement silicates. Don't know if the charcoal does anything, but why not?
I will probably break down and spend the $35 for an inline chlorine filter though.
My back porch has a 4'x8' planter filled with slight variations to LCs mix with some earlier starts. It will eventually be culled to hold 6 plants for the long haul starting at solstice, but for now is my source for fan leaves to cook with. They are Purple Lady x Kush(Ceres), 1 LA Woman, and the smaller ones are a mixed bunch of what was in my tent last run x LR1.
By the way, the porch pic is what I see looking out the slider behind my computer.
