The Swedish Chef in Shark infested waters (Great White Shark - Double DR-60's)

Looks like top quality product right there. Done any testing to compare the different phenos? Just curious :) Ha det bra!

Tjena fan, och tack for komplimangen! :)

The comparison has begun! It's very early though, A has only been jarred for almost two weeks, but C has only been in for a few days. I noticed today that C is actually a little moister than she should be, so she's getting aired out a little more.

WITH THAT SAID:

A is now the widow pheno until a more suitable name is found. Low odor, lighter colors, very frosty. Nice balanced high (no couchlock), very smooth smoke, burns down to a nice clean white ash.

C buds are ridiculous. The top crown weighed in at 11.2 grams! And that's under a 250! Though she didn't seem to like the soilmix, the clone that I have vegging now is actually looking really healthy so far. I'm definately flowering her out at least one more time, I just don't know if she's a keeper yet.

Pretty buds are fine and all, but the smoke has to live up to the looks.

First impressions: needs to dry out more (hence longer burpings). Very pleasing to the eye. Very unique taste (big + in my book), not quite sure how to describe it yet, but it made me sit up and take notice.

Unsure of potency as of yet.

I'm going to do a couple of wake and bakes over the next few weekends to try to get as "pure" of an impression of each of these two phenos as possible.

As for the yields:

A: Best guess, ~43-45 grams. Best guess, cause I've been smoking it quite a bit. :) There's 35 grams left, at least. :)

C: Fairly accurate: 34 grams

I'm actually ahead of where I thought I'd be, that's almost 3 ounces already, and there's got to be 1/2-3/4 ounce on the two B plants....

looks fantastic Bork!

OPT

Thanks OPT!

----

The flower chamber is currently EMPTY AND OFF! As much as it pains me, it looks like there will be a minor downtime (hopefully no more than a week or two).

I will take the opportunity to sterilize the tent and the tray. I'm going to transplant C into a bigger container in the next few days, let her veg a few more, then probably toss her in the flower chamber while the A clones veg another week or two.

Here are some pre-harvest pics of B

In organic soil, 5-7 days veg, topped. Unfortunately, she didn't seem to like being top fed, and extended her flowering time drastically. She got chopped on day 77, with only ~50% cloudy trichs. She was throwing mad nanners, and I didn't want her to end up 100% seeded, so she got yanked.

BB

Same pheno, but with only a day of veg time, untopped, and run in plain LC's mix with BioBizz nutes. She packed on nicely at the end, and turned gorgeous during the flush. Chopped at 71 days, can't wait to taste this girl, she looks DANK.

Peace Bork! I read your whole last grow (your first) and got mostly through this one - I just have to ask: How in the "FRAK" are you using a 6inch fan with a DR60??

I just returned my DR100L (who's size I loved but was a little to big for my space) for a DR80, which is nice but I wish was taller.

Anyway, the intake/exhaust ports on the DR80 (and DR60) are both too small for 6 inch ducting - especially for 6 inch insulated ducting... Did you just force it in there... using... metachlorians perhaps?

(What!? I'm not even a huge star wars fan - lol)

Thanks for any help man. Appreciate it!

Hahaha, nice, FRAK is right! I cursed -nearly- as much jamming that duct through the exhaust port as I did mounting my fan! Seriously, it fraking SUCKED, and I think just pulling that 12 inches or so of ducting through there took at least a sweaty hour, no joke.

The answer is: elbow grease + a small bit of caution to not tear anything.

5" openings...thanks SJ. With that said, I finally found some 5in ducting at HD. It's insulated, but the duct itself is translucent (didn't notice that until I had stripped all the insulation off...sigh...nothing is ever easy). When I finally box up the filter and install the A/C, I'm going to re-do the ducting, and use the five inch duct to go from the tents to the filter box.

Another option is to use 6->4 reducers (haven't been able to find much 5 inch stuff at all, unfortunately).

In short, my solution was to force it through with brute force.

Good luck with your 80, would love to have that little extra space!

Nice one Bork! :tiphat:

You don't fancy going hydro?
GHE waterfarm works really fine with dr60 + 250W hps.
You'll yield at least twice as much from a single plant.

Oh, I've thought about it, but for the near future I'll be sticking with the organic soil for ease and because I'm all stocked up on supplies and don't want to drop any more money on supplies at the moment.

Fraking NICE plants though, holy schnikies! Are those all single plants? How long was the veg time?

------------

Small update time:

Sorry I've been away so long, real life has been....phew, busy as hell...plus it's been fairly uninteresting as things have been ramping up.

One of the things I got a chance to do was take a nice vacation to NorCal, and the whole trip is a haze! Smoked soooo much good weed, and some killer hash....

Unfortunately, coming back home.....now my shit tastes so bland and boring, hahaha. Seriously, every god damn thing out there tasted like citrus, or blueberrys, or strawberries or some shit, ridiculous! Fortunately, when I'm ready, I now have a good source for Cali genetics! Before that, I'll be cracking my SpaceQueen/SpaceJill seeds though.

Anyhow, second GWS run is ~5 weeks in with ~3 or so to go. Mono-cropping pheno A (still haven't thought of a name for her), and the 3rd run has already rooted! Next crop is mono-crop pheno C, and there should be ZERO downtime between runs this time, AND I'll be filling the flower tent a little tighter.

Some pics of the current run. In back are the previous A mother on the left, and one clone, both in 2 gal SmartPots. In front, I have a little shelf, and two more clones in 6in squares. The shrimp on the left was a slow rooter, and the runt of the litter, and is about a week behind the other plants.

Yeah, it was great, and it definitely lit a fire up under my ass, I'm definitely heading west ASAP.

First herm spotted at day 39, so now I'm on daily nanner patrol.

Other than that, big things fittin' to happen. Installing some shelving tomorrow, then the A/C, and building the box for it ASAP. Currently looking for a suitable container to turn into my filter distribution box. Ordering a small reservoir, so I can install my Blumats! Finding a new drying box to hang in the closet (linked to the carbon filter exhaust).

Next round, pheno C, 7 clones in veg right now, a few aren't looking so hot but I think they will all make it, and should be ready to flip right at harvest!

Onward and upward!

Bork: Delta 9 is on it's own, vegged for 3-4 weeks (18/6), can't remember for sure.
AK-47 and Pacifica stayed 3 weeks on 18/6.

Nice frost on those buds mate. :)

Thanks, and damn, that's impressive.

Phase 1 of the pimping is complete, A/C is installed in the closet. FUCK that was a lot of work. Yes, FUCK, not FRAK. That's how bad it was.

Phase 2 is going to be to insulate the A/C exhaust, cause it is pretty hot (hope it's not too hot for the plastic S&P fan).

Phase 3 is going to be the exhaust/filtering rebuild. Vortex 6" is on the way (the sound difference between this and my piece of shiat eco plus 6" is fraking ridiculous). Attic fan will be disconnected, vortex mounted in closet, filter moved out of tent and into a sealed rubbermaid tub (already purchased, though I may go full bore and build a smaller wood box instead), and seperate exhausts run to each tent, both insulated.

Once that is ALL done, I think I will have temps where I want them. Right now, with A/C running full steam, it's still a few degrees too warm for my tastes (high 70's/low 80's) with the doors closed, but it will have to do.

Phase 4 and final phase is to install some kind of drying cab.

Oh, and the A/C overloaded the circuit. /smash head. So it's temporarily running off heavy duty extension cord, until I can get a separate line put it, which has been bumped to the top of the priority list.

Plant wise, all 7 clones (C) are looking good, mama C has been killed. Topped a few clones and tried FIMming one, will see how that turns out. Mama (A) is going to get topfed tonight, she'll need to possibly be transplanted soon. Flower tent is kicking, other than the occasional nanner. One branch snapped at day 46 (I think) so it's drying, with mostly cloudy/some clear trichs. I was going to chop at day 60 again (I think), but I think that might be a little too long with this girl. Keeping a close eye on trichs and nanners.

I don't think I'll get a dry cab installed prior to harvest, but I'm going to try. Not the end of the world, now that the cabinet is sealed, and I built a proper a/c box, they can dry in the open closet without major issue.

Finally, thanks to all my iCMag peeps for tuning in, and some special shout outs

To my boy in norcal and fam, thanks for being such gracious hosts, I had a fucking blast, and I'll see you in like...shit, about a month!

To my homies in NY, congrats on your crib, when I come back up we're going to get you up and running proper like now that you have no more landlord worries!

And last but definately not least, my landlocked brother from another mother stuck in Nebraska: SPOOOOOON! Big plans boy, big plans!

I'll have a picture update up sometime in the not too distant future, things are lovely.

Oh, and by the way, shark don't stretch. I have two that are 12 inches or less from soil to top!

Harvest complete!

Did the deed Sunday night, day 55 on the three old girls (one is ten days behind and won't get chopped just yet).

Damn, I need to get me some bubblebags! One more run of dry sift+butter, then I'm picking up a one-gallon set. Here's the sugary sugarleaf.

These will be getting disposed of pronto.

The pride and joy, humming along like a champ. Soooo much work.

picture.php

picture.php

Power strip. With everything on (excluding 6in exhaust and a/c, which are on separate circuits), I draw 3 amps.

picture.php

The shelf across the way is where the reservoir for the blumats will sit. Reservoir is prepped and sterilize, may set the system up tomorrow....

picture.php

And here's why....nearly impossible to water!

picture.php

To make room for the C-pheno girls (hereafter known as "Sharky"), the remaining A-pheno (hereafter known as "Whitey) was moved to the veg-tent, and I'll manually flip her lights by pulling her out of the tent. It's only another week or so.

picture.php

picture.php

picture.php

picture.php

It will be interesting to see how she finishes under T5's.

Tons of work and real-life lately, things have been beyond hectic. NEED to get the blumats in pronto, so like I said, may do that tomorrow. Once that is done, my shit will be tiiiiiiiiiight. Once the lung box is made, mounted, and connected, my closet will be DONE.

Now comes the hard part, the waiting! The 46 and 49 day snapped branches are dried, but not cured. A little harsh on the throat, but damn, I missed Whitey. She packs a PUNCH.

The pimping continues....

Blumat auto-watering system is now installed!

Whew, so glad I got this done. Going to save me a LOT of work. Micro-growing is cramped, and watering is my least favorite activity.

Reservoir (10 gallon Sterilite tub for now, have a Botanicare res that I will get down the road)

Installing the plumbing. I brought it in with the passive air intake.

Pre-op

Cones pre-soaked for 1hr+

Finished!

MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND THIS BEFORE INSTALLING!

THE FINAL CONE IN THE SERIES, YOU MUST REMOVE THE "T
" PIECE, AND REPLACE IT WITH THE END PIECE, LIKE SO:

If you do what I did instead, which is install the end-piece at the end of the chain by itself, you'll have water squirting all over like crazy!

I'm just glad the lamp didn't get splashed. Had I been smart, I would have turned it off first.

Again, another project, lots of work. The only thing that remains at this point is mounting the vortex and the filter...and moving a different electrical circuit into the closet.

/sigh

Can't fucking wait Cap! And there better be some left when I get there!

I have a feeling I will be talking you into these blumats when I get there!

Thanks Sleepy, and thanks for stopping in s0ber!

Hoping the girls have dried out enough by lights on that I'll be able to see a little action out of the blumats and start getting them dialed in.

Buds should be dry enough to jar by the next few days, tomorrow is a week drying. Making sure they are dry enough this time, after losing about an ounce to nasty nasty mold last time.

Supercropped a couple of the girls that were starting to outpace the others, trying to keep as even a canopy as I can. It's going to be packed in there, and I'm going to have to keep a close eye for budrot come the final few weeks.

Might take the next round of clones tonight or maybe next week, and start the next batch of soil. Whitey is up next, and she takes a long time to root.

When I do the two week trim of the flowering girls (Sharky), I have to remember to take a few clones to root from them as well, since I killed off the mom. Unless I decide to just keep Whitey, which is possible.

Thanks grower.

Little picture update. Life has been hectic as fark. Still getting the blumats juuuuust right, a little tricky figuring out exactly how moist I want the pots, but getting there. I think things look great, but I am going to have to trim a bit of fan leaves asap, or I'm pretty certain I'm going to end up with mold or mildew.

Still a LOT of work to do on the project, actually, but things are stable for now. Canopy maxes out around 78, bottoms out around 69 degrees.

Went with a very aggressive trim job at one week flower or so.

Mama Whitey was looking in terrible shape, so I felt that I had to take some cuts from her. This is two days after taking clones, trimming her back, and topfeeding a little soil.

Final whitey girl comes down, day 59, finished the last 12 days under T5's (6500k). I like my biatches short and fat.

Hoping roots show soon, but I don't expect to see them for another 7-14 days at least, based on past experience with the strain and cloner. I am not sure which to blame, but I may very well try the rapid rooters I have the next run.

Anyways, exhausted completely and utterly, so I'm cutting it here. Tomorrow is going to consist of sleeping in, accomplishing what chores i can muster when I wake up. When I can take it no more, I'm eating a double dose of medibles, then doing as little as humanely possible.

Peace.

Wow, nice update Bork. It looks like things are going really well in there. Love the auto-watering...might have to look into those for myself! Keep up the great work.

LOVING the blumats so far, I think I'll be using these for a LONG time.

Since I'm in such a cramped space, watering would be impossible with the tent packed like this (whether it was a good idea to pack it this tight remains to be seen). I'd have to pull each pot out each watering again...FRAK THAT!

Changed the bubble-cloner res last night because I had waaay overdone it on the h2o2 (burnt the fudge out of my thumb checking the temp). Didn't put any in when I refilled it, and today 8/12 clones are drooping and yellow, stem covered in slime.

Think I'm done trying with this thing. Need to make some kind of tray for the rapid rooters I have and start over. The Sharky genetics might be lost, because I'm not going to reveg. We'll see if they pull through.

Glad I didn't kill off the whitey mama yet.

Just a little update, 29 days in, just shy of the halfway point.

Canopy and bud shots, and a couple of the blumats in action.

Having these things, I don't know how I've lived without them. I always knew I spent a large part of my gardening time with the watering process, I just never knew HOW large a part. These are SUCH a timesaver and worksaver, I LOVE them.
