Just did my first 100% Coco grow, had very good results i grow one of my biggest buds ever my only problem with coco is it does not give my plants the support they need if i don't tie them up they would just fall over under the wate of my buds.:)

My Question is what do you guys and girls do to help support your plants in coco?

The whole time I have a plant in veg I'm bending and twisting stems and I keep doing it until the 3rd to 4th week of flower or until she stops stretching. By that time it's like a small tree, more than capable of supporting it's own weight. I have a chicken wire screen over it, but it's more just to keep her down, not hold her up.

It's a lot of personal attention, maybe not too practical if you have more than 1 plant.

Its not that my plants can not support there own weight its the coco that can not support my plants may be a root issue or the fact that coco is so light. In my test sog my plants are so top heavy that they would just fall over taking the roots with them.

Stunning first coco run Craven.
It may be the Auto-pot and coco that is the problem, I have some immense plants in 6.5 lts of coco but I hand water from the top, the plants grow an inch thick mat at the surface right across the whole pot, very much as a tree does outdoors, you obviously have good roots that feed your plant well but are they all growing straight down to the res' and not giving the same support.

You could try putting chicken wire or some kind of open mesh over them so that the tops grow up into it just enough to hold them, or tie them up to it with florists wire.

The roots were ripping right out of the coco? It doesn't seem like it should happen, the roots usually fill whatever container they're in very quickly.

You might just have to grow smaller, less impressive buds :p
