What was your smoothest ever smoke?

I recall the incredibly soft smoke of the pre '98 Aloha White Widow. This stuff was so soft and smooth to smoke that it actually felt like it was lubricating your lungs with a delicate medicating mist. Its flavour was really up there too and it was pretty potent on the surface. Initially it would hit you pretty hard but from then on in it was a strain that most people would build up tolerance to within an exceptionally short period of time. However, I've never come across anything to match that stuff for smoothness anywhere ever since.

What strains have you found to be exceptionally smooth and soft to smoke? Do you equate that type of softness with low potency or can you name a really soft smoke that's a hard hitter?

One of my greatest dreads is a really hot, harsh smoke that sends me into fits of coughing. After turning myself inside-out, embarrassing myself in front of friends and family, with weasing lungs and watering eyes, I often ask myself why I bother punishing myself so severely to get high. There are smooth, soft smokes out there, are there not?

SweetPinkGrapefruit grown by GS!

He flushes plants better than anybody I know. (The true key to smoothness)

In fact all his herb can be considered smooth.
All his herb is potent stuff.

A well flushed and properly cured Blue Berry. It doesn't get much better than that for me.

A cross of Oregon90 and Burmese Pure.
Got it's smoothness from the O90 I was told.

After that, I'd second Haps on BB.

...i wonder if it has more to do with how it was grown, and flushed towards the end, than it does with genetics?

the haze i'm running, cured well, is like smoking well lubricated sex. with butter.

it's smooth to a point you end up taking a heroic hit without noticing just what you subjected your lungs to...but by then, you're talking to chair so it doesn't matter.

Hmmm, this thing about flushing is certainly true for hydge growers but I never grew in juice, always a soil man, so for me, soft smooth smoke mainly comes down to genetics. As I grow with consistent methods the difference can clearly be noticed from the variances in source of genetic material.

I've grown some bloody harsh strains that felt like they were wrenching your lungs out and I've grown some superbly smooth stuff such as BOG's Lifesaver, FDM's Royal Orange, Federation's Mikado etc but that pre '98 WW set the bench mark for me, only it isn't available that I know of.

Very interested in the recommendations...

Thanx!

hey outdoordreams, that was a cross sugabear made. He had the very afghani O90. Tried to grow out some f2s i made, but their getting old, no luck. Nice though, no throat burn at all.

No flush smokefrogg on the O90 cross, didn't even know what flushing was then.

Everything ive grown with nepalese in it has been as smooth as air.

Some breeders breed hack and cough weed while others can tease out the finer qualities of the plant. Companies that have 40 strains don't have the time to do anything but pollenchuck let alone select for finer traits. Those like Dj shorts or Serious work their lines for excellence.

Burn a big fat blueberry joint and then fire up something like Sadhu and youll experience just one of the difference in quality breeders and those with some male and females..
