I don't flush weekly. But then again I try not to over-fert in the first place, and try to give the plants a balanced diet that's easy for them to digest.

So is 600 - 850ppm ( hanna) every feeding enough to require a weekly flush ?

Every feeding is about every 2 days.

Depends on strain, type / amount / ratio of nutes, medium, and type of watering.

Why would you flush with another fert? The purpose of a flush is to remove fertilizers built up in soil... some nutrients aren't translocatable, meaning once the plant absorbs them, they stay absorbed, and I believe CALCIUM is one, so unless you want your weed to taste like total crap go easy on the CAL... if you are following the Head formula, or even the Rez formula you shouldn't have to flush till the end.

I have been speaking with a representative of Canna about flushing in coco, and he states to flush with a 600ppm (hanna) and not plain water. I cant remember his explanation but I can post the email if you guys want/dont believe it.

I flush one time every other week

You have to flush with a weak solution because plain water doesnt flush, its around here somewhere someone explains it.

I think there is something to with something connecting to something and pulling somehting out of something :)

I only flush at the very end of budding, never during the plant cycle. Using clearex, dripclean binds all the salts.

I also do not water to excess, only exactly what is needed.

dripclean= no flush.

Centrum, I feed everyday with 950ppm and only flush before harvest. And when I say flush i mean I feed with plain water for 2 weeks before harvest.

I don't personally feel a need to flush. I'm hand watering to waste and never let the coco dry out completely. I look for about a pint to a quart of runoff each watering with a 5gal pot.

I do however, mix in a weekly feeding of organic tea that also may be a little bit of a flush since I'm not using the regular bottled nutes.

At the end I plan on watering with plain water for maybe the last 3-4 days, any longer than that with the strain I'm running is just inviting bud rot and not really accomplishing anything good.

dirtfinger: can you explain why giving plain water increases the risk of budrot?

I'm not a botanist so not really, but I can explain my observations and my take on them.

This strain finishes very fast, by that I mean you have about a week between the time the buds are ripe and over ripe. Giving the plant just water for more than a few days seems to cause the plant to uptake more water in an effort to gain the nutes that aren't there. The buds get a higher moisture content and thus are more prone to rot.

I don't personally think flushing is even necessary if you're not over nuting. I'll do it for a few days at the end just for shits and giggles but any longer than that is just starving this strain during a critical finishing phase.

I have heard from almost every source, to never flush with plain water...a mild nutrient solution should be used..that's what I have heard...I don't have much experience with coco...just stating what I have been reading from tons of coco growers and soil growers alike...
