plant count restrictions

Since you could get the same amount of finished product of one plant as you could four plants that are 1/4 the size of the bigger one wouldn't it make more sense to just limit the wattage someone could put into their lighting? I would think that would be a more effective way of regulating how much a person has on hand at any given time.

Ive been thinking the same way.Either figure it by square foot room size or how many watts. Both ways seem much fairer then playing the per plant number.

Why have limits?

Now if I had a choice between numbers and your idea, I might side with you if the limit was reasonable, say 3,000 watts. But not any less.

on a side note:
The whole thing about medical cannabis and limits can be summed up real easy. Since cannabis can be used to help many different issues and there are so many variations of cannabis, we must be giving the right to try different strains. To try and find what works the best. Also to be able to have enough to cook with and make concentrates as they are healthier. Growing from seed means keeping several mothers while their clones: veg, flower out, dry and cure. Then you know what to keep. All the time keeping yourself in supply. That's why limits don't work. That's also why they were never put in 215 to begin with and why the Cali supreme court ruled the limits unlawful. :yay:

Plant number vs. usable, dry product does not equal out in Mighigan. It's very, very frustrating trying to keep it right. THAT is my biggest problem with plant limits, they don't allow you enough dry weed to come off your plants. Fucking stupid.

I'm wondering about sticking 2 clones into each rockwool plug. When it's time to transplant, the plug goes into 1 pot, thus one plant. Twin stemmed plants are somewhat rare, but they do happen. IMHO, leo would just count pots. I would use larger pot sizes to accomodate the double root mass.

I have done the 2 clones in 1 pot thing, and the plants kinda suffer, even if they are sister plants from the same mother, one seems to deny the other the lion's share of nutes.

I totally think that it should be square footage or canopy over plant numbers or weight. I think 100 sq ft is a large enough garden for anyone to treat their ailments, and that covers veg, moms, clones and flowering and I have a lot of experience growing (over 25 years) and smoking (20 years).

Unfortunately here where I am at, the lawmakers are turning the mmj laws here into total crap in fron of our eyes. Our only hope is to pass a ballot measure in Nov that sensible colorado is sponsoring that allows anyone over the age of 21 to grow 6 plants (3 mature being a mature plant is anything over 12") and possession of I think up to an oz or 2, and if this passes it will make what "they" are trying to do with dispensaries and the whole mmj situation here moot and return the world somewhat back to normal. The backlash in Colorado over the last 12 months has been harsh. I am seriously considering moving to another mmj state and setting up my garden there.
