it takes a lot more then people think to breed successfull auto-flowering strains worthy of the market, I wont hold my breath, stick with the breeders that have been doing it for MANY yrs, Joint Doctor, Mdanzig, and even LowLife, and other long time private AF breeders.

Reports will tell the truth but i wont be risking my $ to find out, due to the bad reports of the other AF strains they released.

Like this Secret AF, Day 63 from seed. TRUE AF takes time and effort!

Is the strain a secret? Or is it called secret? Either way, damn that looks tasty

i agree, im not going to rush out an try any new auto until good reviews come in from first hand grower experience. alot of fake autos out there, ive heard short ryder from nirvanna is a fake auto. maybe they got it right this time.

Just one of my current projects, I dont want to say its name or parents, just protecting my work.:tiphat: But it smokes as good as it looks!

Elite Auto have there place in the future as there are many applications where they will excell over traditional Non Auto strains. But i will NEVER get rid of my NON AF strains they are just so damn good there is no substitution for them.

Auto flowers do have a place. Its not like they are going to get worse through the years to come. Yet a plant that takes six months has much more time to expand its roots, eat up the sun, and drench itself in stickiness then autos. I just don't see how its possible for autos to ever be the king of potency or production in an apple to apple test (one plant against one). A day may come where autos can produce more per square foot then regular strains.

If an auto ever comes out that packs on the bud and dankness bettor then a regular strain, some one will turn it back into a non auto and it will be king of the hemp once more. Simply because it will have more time to eat up the chemicals its nature drives it to use.

Just a thought.
If an auto comes out that takes like 5 to 6 months from seed to harvest. It would have a good chance at competing with the big boys.

Hint hint.

I think autos are exciting and love the development that is happening with them. In terms of stealth they are hard to beat. But when/if legalization happens I would mostly grow full size. Just the thought of looking out my window at the garden and seeing some 8-10 foot sativas is enough to give me a woody!

For me, AFs are the business. Call me old (& I do appear to be getting that way), but head shreddin' super skunk is not what I want to smoke these days. AFs are quite strong enough, thank you.

As I no longer have space for a dedicated grow room, I want to grow something that I don't have to wait until October to harvest. This year I had AFs going from March 1st, and have just had harvest no 1. I will be harvesting every month now throughout the summer, which is when I really want a smoke.

Plus points: No dodgy dealing with crims, no weed that isn't, no weed of uncertain heritage.

Minus points: Not quite as strong, reduced yields.

Hey, I can live with that. :whee:

your right on most points, but autos already out yeild reg plants per square ft. and have for some time, true it isnt a huge differance but autos gpw per year lets say for a lenght of time out produce almost all strains, esp when u factor ''space'' into the equation. its not a yeild thing lacking in auto to date, its a potency issue.

I have been growing for a few years and have had the wonderful opportunity to grow out some beautiful strains.

I am tired of waiting 5 months for my harvest.

I am tired of all the work, keeping moms and cloning.

I need less moving parts....that's autos.

Wanted to add that I have mucho appreciation for all the people who have worked on these autos.

Your right. I did not factor square foot in with time. I guess if you could harvest 10 times as apposed to 3 maybe you would be producing way more per square foot.

How do the autos compare in the Watt-hours per square foot? Since autos are usually run with longer hours maybe they only yield better because of more light. What say you Dykster?

Yes...but I no longer keep moms, veg and clone area..so I sort of break even in the lighting department....says dykster...lol...

for some reason nobody has taken icecoldcrikets method to heart, hes getting a pound of erb ever 60+ days with his 400hps set up. is anybody coming close to this yeild with standard strains when u factor in start to finish, meaning grow a mom, take a cutting, root a cutting, then veg a cutting, then switch the light cycle n wait for it to bud for another 9 weeks? again autos out grow anything once u factor in space into the equation simply becuase all your space is a budd factory in itself.

My first run of autos I got over a pound with two rubbermaid tubs in 9 weeks. I run 4 tub and 2 400 hps lights. I have never harvested so much herb in my life. Indoors...think about it..9 weeks it's done and in the jar. So, 2 pounds with 2 400's every 9 weeks..and I am not that great a grower.

dyk thats beautiful man. im in the process of making seeds for an near auto future of big yeilds like u, following the fine inspiration laid down by icecoldcrikets. dykster what was your seed of choice, what have u ran so far?
