:thank you::tiphat:

Well it looks super sweet! It looks like you are running two lines to your panel. Are you using two 60amp breakers both covering 4 of the 15amp breakers in your panel?

Running 110v I am pretty sure you can only get ONE 1kw per 15amp breaker. No firers allowed!

The Lowes bucket room looks like the window is not light proof! Also I have never used a window AC unit but don't they suck air from the room and pump it outside? My guess is you are going to have some nice smells when those ladies start to flower. I hope the neighbors don't cause you any trouble ;) I want to see 1lb trees in those buckets :plant grow:

:joint:
thanks brother, that panel will handle up to 80 amps but i will be using around 50 amps morning and 50 amps at night. You know, because this is my first time with the panel i thought hooking some 240 would be hard.

I was wrong :D so right now i will be running 4k with 50 using 110. Some where down the road i will rewire it or built a new panel to run 240.

I am limited to run 4k inday and 4 at night, i would like to run some where about 6 in day time and 6 night time :D

The window AC unit is about 6k BTU, i tested ran it with the light on for 6 hours, it kept the temp right at 80. But thats only 2400 watts, im not sure about 4k. Might have to upgrade to 8k btu.

I am also thinking of sealing that room and boosting the CO2. Shooting for 1 to 1.5 per bucket haha thats a little high hope for me but i'll try my best.

nice looking grow... i'm going to start experimenting with perlite in bato buckets

window acs are sealed if set to right setting

yes sire, perlite is the way to go, well for me it is hehe

Nice Work Red,
Looks fantastic, Best of luck with the show!
Peace...Scroger! ;)

 you can do it bro, just plan it right and you will have your own dream house up and running ;). it took me some months to plans this house out and have it up running right.

stay and enjoy the show, hope you dont get bore :D

I'm in this is close to what I have now. If water dosent work for me maybe this will.

this is the reason why im using very little water. because im afraid of flooding and equips failing. i have a few extra pumps stand by just for that.

thanks for the kind words puddin'tane, i'll do a better job next time with the panel. and yes that would make 2 of us. this is my first time running it :D

cant wait to follow your grow. :comfort:

:D thanks m8 :huggg:

good tech...

good tech...

:tiphat:
:lurk:

should be fun!
in imagination, sumthing similar:D teehee...

in fiction, found that external bucket of only 5 gal not enough...for big plant.
roots quickly grow into that. esp if veg under nice lyghtys, like that!

bigger outer bucket/container=:good: perlite let rootys go down into shallow res fast. root also make fishbones in external bucket... they lieky lots of room...

in fiction, large trough, so roots gro into ~2.5-5cm solution... w/ no competition from other roots, or other planty, or plumbing/drain... maybe planty in ~tin gal diy container. maybe, 1k/2 planty... fowr planty per big trough:) roots grow into trough, thru container... target: 1-2 full pic-a-nic basket of tomatoes per lyghty:D, w/ ~only fuor planty... water 1x/day wand, full strength s0luti0n ~5gl/36h. run-off go thru container & into trough, bubbled/splashed until evapor/drawn up. ~3-4gal dehu/24-36h 5.0-5.5 input ph... cal & mag & h202 & silicon fed separately;)

feed 24/7? or lights on?

no staggered (stair-case) lighting, w/ three bulb? desire maximium terminal flowers?

:wave Mistress,
thanks for the info once again :D

feeding only when lights are on. but might be an hour when off.

I did a quick trial with 1 bucket, i found that root will grow all around the perlite in buckets. I mean it will freaking fill up the whole bucket.

I got 4 0z + with a 100 watts in one gal bucket. Im not sure how its going to do with the 5 gal.

with this system, the root will never see the rez. they will only grow on the perlite and get the nutes from drip lines.

Well that is what i think they will do haha the rest its up to the plants ;)

cheers,
red.

Good stuff man. I'm in the construction phase of my new room and it's my first time working with substantial space. It's so damn fun building grow rooms I'll be sad when it's over. Well maybe not, I'll be too busy playing with tree's to notice.

Do you get that green mold on top of the perlite? Even if you do not I'd use Panda plastic and wrap the tops of the buckets to stop any light penetration. This will do three things, one it will allow the roots to grow closer to the surface, and in some cases even at the surface. Two it stops funky stuff from growing up top. Third it slows evaporation from the pot, allowing the rez to last just a bit longer.

is that a. 5gal (100% perlite) in b. 5gal (catching run-off drainage/plumb for return line)?
bottom 5gal return @ ~2"?
any holes drilled into top a. 5gal bucket? for more aeartion?

the bottom 5gal can become filled w/ roots & gro into the drain line...
especially if vegged under lots light... larger external drain-return-mini-res bucket, seemed to give larger root growth area, when did kbs in another galaxy...
diy trough/bed, w/ drain going back to res maybe eliminate outer 5 gal bucket & give more root space to plantys... long, rectangualr cooler/tote/trough also option instead of shallow are in external 5 gal bucket... they do work though! sum kbs'ers found that bigger external bucket=...
just options...:ying:

enjoy your garden!

:thank you::tiphat: thanks :D that was some good advices, i will do that ! alto i rarely have stuff growing on top of the perlite, if you check my vert thread you can see the perlite are still kinda white :D 50 something day so far for that thread.

is that 5gal in 5gal?
bottom 5gal w/ return line to res? 2" mini-res in lower 5gal?
any holes drilled into top 5gal bucket? for more aeartion?

There are two 5 gals bucket for every plants, bucket on top have many small holes on bottom and side for good drainage, bottom bucket connect to 1/2 in pvc for running off.

Meaning there will never more then 1/2 in of water bottom buckets, all nutes will return to main rez and pump back up to feeding line.

I would like to fill the hole 5 gal buckets with nothing but roots and perlite, i believe thats is enough to get 1lb out of each. well thats what i think :D.

btw, the main rez will be change in to a heavy duty one this week, going from 16 gal to probably 25 or 27 gal.

Only thing bothers me is all that carpet. You worried about flooding it or having any mold/mildew issues?

yes im with you on this one, i freaking hate hate that carpet!

which is the reason why im doing this system, make sure there isnt any Leak or flooding.

I am 100 % sure there will be no leak or flood what so ever, about the mold and pm. well ill have to work hard at the air circulation and room rh.

Looks great bro, I was gonna comment on the carpet too. Best to rip it up if at all possible. When I was done with a room I'd call Home Depot and they'd send out a crew quickly to recarpet the bedroom in matching carpet for about $400. If it gets wet even once pull it, it will NEVER dry properly!

You could put several layers of pond liner on the floor. Makes sure you bring the edges up the wall 4" or so to create a pool.
