Hello,

I hate it when I just fix a problem and another one occurs in my op. I currently have a 600w sun system ballast with a agrosun bulb. I went to go see them tonight and....... darkness. The ballast seemed to be ticking like......, tick tick tick, as the bulb was trying to light. The ballast, after being unplugged seems to work normally but the bulb still wont light. I let it sit unplugged for 15,30,70 minutes and still no ignition. The bulb lights up blue when plugged in but no sun power... can anyone help? thanks

eh there, doesn't sound like a fun time w/ that ballast. well, first thing, did you check the fuse. generally you have one that can be swapped out on a digital ballast. find your directions and check that. If that is intact, and looks ok, you may just want to try the other fuse, to know the problemo isn't that. Next call your the dealer who sold it to you. It is sunday, bummer, so they are probably closed!! Get a surge protector if you don't have one already. Cali is notorious for power spiking.

Thanks for the speedy reply and Ive had some changes.... So I turned it on after being unplugged for about 30 minutes and nothing. When i set it down i accidentally dropped it, 2 inches, as it rolled over and the bulb flickered and turned on, waited ten minutes and turned back on and no problems. Any ideas on what the inconsistency is from?

I keep a $35 home depot spare bulb around. It comes in real handy to check if you have a ballast or bulb problem. I had the same thing as you last week with a 1 month old $100 ushio bulb. I thought it was the ballast cause the bulb was pretty new. But, I plugged in my home depot sapre HPS and it worked:thinking: .

But, I'd say your problem is the bulb or the igniter in the ballast.
