Try a radical FIM, or severe bondage/lst.
Also lights should be tight to foliage - as close as possible to avoid stretch.

I have grown many strains 12/12 from seed and in my years of experience with this method I have to say its not advisable to top/fim/prune when using this type of growing style (unless its a pure sativa and still only in some cases).
LST/training work good and should be used for height control if it is needed.

The rest of my advice was good / bad / spot on / waaay off???
I can tell you that one of them grew all the way into the light in one day and burnt totally off and that plant is doing better then the other two. It's got branches coming out of branches, like 3" long. But they all stopped growing taller and are growing more branches. Think that that was the stretch. Now i've got staggered nodes. Preflowers for two weeks and still no white hairs on two of them. One has hairs though. 4+ wks old. Changed to 11/13 light now.

the rest of your advise was spot on , too much N can cause delay in the onset of flowering , and slow down flowering
Plus too much N promotes leaf and stem growth as you correctly pointed out
And yeah keeping lights close is also important
What up ya'll. Yeah I think ya'll we're right. Don't change the rez but every 4 weeks. So i changed it and only put in pro bloom and additives. mininmal N. One is taking off budding. One just started with the white hairs and one still nothing been over 5 weeks 12/12, 11/13 I think its just the sativa in them. Thanks for the knowledge. Think a scrog would be good with this?

Hi everyone, great resource this thread.
I was considering using this 12/12 from seed method in my new closet grow I'm brainstorming right now. At first I was going to have a veg and flower section, but for simplicity's sake, and from other's advice, I don't think this will work in this space.

I'm curious as to what people think about this space as regards to ventilation and lighting. Would a 250w HPS (w/ hood fan) be too much heat for this space? My default plan is to go with a 150w HPS with hood fan (if such a thing exists, the hood fan that is for 150w) and also some CFL bulbs intersperced in the area as well. Would a fan blowing in the upper portion of the closet be enough air circulation to discourage mold formation? I was going to leave the closet door open during the day and the bedroom door closed so that the air shouldn't be too stagnant, hopefully, since there is no window in this bedroom, the air coming from the heat/A/C vent will be enough fresh air along with the fan. I don't think humidity will be a problem as the lights tend to dry the place out I noticed during a full bedroom grow with a 1000w HPS, I needed to have a humidifier running 24h to keep it in the 40-60% range.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Yeah good thread. Definately gonna give this a try. Bit long though, i did skip a few to get here lol. Anyone tried 13/11 veg then 11/13 flowering?
I guess I can give you a strain report, i'm a first time grower trying it with bagseed. I only have 10 weeks to grow so i'm switching over to 12/12 in 1-2 weeks. I can't promise anything overly professional but i'm sure I can come up with some evidence to add to your theory.

They are one gallons....I had the same thought but at the time as afraid to put them under 12/12 so I didnt have the room in the veg cab. The cups I used were pretty deep and the tap root had barely touched bottom when I transplanted. I understand the taproot teling the plant. I read and believe myself that the top side of a plant resembles the root system.

SunTzu - 1gallon will do well. If you notice my pots are not quite full. Probably more like 1.7gallons in there. Left room foir top dressing with castings and such, but with 400w CMH over 3.6sqft they are so tight to the soil that idea is out for now.
