Can somebody tell me about this 'Ogre'?

That classic "sour" smell...tastes kinda earthy though...feels sativa dominant, but there's waves of an indica stone mixed in..overall, its pretty heavy, just not crippling or complete couch lock like a classic indica...was trying to do a genealogy of this plant maybe a NL x Sour cross? has anyone heard of this?

I've always heard Ogre as a nick name for OG and earthy sour diesel sounds about right.

Used to get a bunch of this stuff...its definately not kush even though yours looks kushy.

The ogre i used to get was really good, but definately looked more like a haze dominant. Had a trainwreck/Snowcap kinda smell, really good bag appeal, kinda fluffly with foxtails but always covered in frost. Dont have pics because i havent bought off that grower in years he raised his prices too high.

Your ogre looks more OG kush like...how does it smell? Haze x ?? Cross is what im thinking

im new to strains and this exotic shit, but i swear in addition to that sour smell it really has this hint of fruity pebbles...its actually almost sweet..

...not fruit or sweet like the heavier smelling cush thats like in my grow...i know thats a kush..but yeah, this shit is surprisingly "dense"..

My understanding is that Ogre is a mutant Sensi Star cut.

You are correct about the SnowCap/Trainwreck smell as well as the rest of your description.

The original "The Ogre" is a Nor-Cal clone only strain. Used to be really popular around here, and was for many years.. I grew it for about 5 years and lost it around 2008. It's short and *very* bushy, lots of very big leaves. It is also prone to PM and bud rot. But is also some of the most sugary bud I've ever seen. It has a very distinct taste and high and not much can match it. Though when I first tried Trainwreck I thought it was an Ogre cross. But Trainwreck and The Ogre grow completely differently..

If you can get the original clone it's definitely a keeper and should be a part of any elite library..

My ogre never foxtailed, and I wouldn't attribute sativa to it in any way.. It did require a very close proximity to my 400 tho in order to control stretch.. Indeed, I've never seen any as sugar coated, or as quickly.. I have a no-cal strain only ogre and shea here to stay.. The leaves are truly something to fight with.. I would say my only challenge with her was trying to run her in organic soil.. Very not happy in there, but in ffof, a queen in her own right.. And she seems to like lots of water tho I've heard root rot to be an issue with her, and by her I mean the true ogre cut.. She vegged quite quickly once she's going, but she needs a bit of a kick in the ass to do so. I have even seen some complaints of a hay smell and taste but have not experienced that with my girls.. Just my 2 cents, eager to share some first hand exp with a true queen as my first post in ic..
