Water heater removal?

I got one taking up tons of room in my basement. Its is a old electric heater about 6ft tall. Anyone got any suggestions? Cut it up with the risk of asbestos or hire someone?

empty it and remove. Got a dolly? strap it on and go. The only water tank I ever had to cut out was about 3500 gallons in a basement that used to be the neighborhood pump house.

Ya maybe like one of those refrigerator hand trucks? Its all ready drained but since we have such hard water Im sure it is full of sediment and such.

I manhandled one out of a house one time while it still had water in it. It was draining and I got impatient, so I walked it out, while flooding the basement. LOL

two guys should be able to get it out. If not replacing, you may need to cap the lines, disconnect electric, etc and make sure there are no future issues (dont leave the wires hanging, in case someone turns on the breaker, cap the lines in case someone turns on the water, etc)

No biggie
