is this just a normal nitrogen deficiency during mid flowering or......

Hey everyone

I'm growing an autoflower strain called Himalaya Blue Diesel.

The plant in question is now 5 and a bit weeks old and the expected cycle is 8-10 weeks.

I noticed today the the mid to lower leaves have changed colour overnight and are now a lighter shade of green. The new leaves and upper leaves are fine.

Is this just an expected Nitrogen deficiency, to be expected at this time and therefore required no action, or is it something I need to fix.

Its a totally organic grow and been limited (in Uruguay) with possible solutions if I need to fix it, all I have with Nitrogen in in some 'weak' sea bird guano with a value of 5-4-2

um... by your descriptions, it seems you are feeding them enough... is there water always lodged at the bottom of the buckets by any chance (wet feet) ?

because 20cm tall plants already in flower in a 6.5 liter pot has too big of a pot...

have you tried letting the soil dry until your pot feels light?

good luck

Doesent look normal to me, its too early in bloom to be yellowing, looks like an N def which will lose you yield if it is not treated. Maybe you might get away with a foliar, if not try painting a treatment on to over & the under side of the leaves for a mega quick fix! I would flush your pots & feed as normal, making sure you have a decent source of N in your ferts. What ferts are you using man? I do see alot of AF's doing the same thing about the same time as yours, so maybe, na it aint right it cant be, its too early looking at them.!

Thanks for the replies. No they never get wet feet. Most people recommend that size pot for AF Dwarf's.

I'm preparing (for tomorrow) a 'nitrogen' tea - 2 L Chlorine free water, 25g SBG, 25G Chicken G. This will hopefully get N to it quickly, but having read your post, I can't decide whether to foliar feed, paint or just water with the Tea - can I paint or spray with a guano tea without damage ??

Possibly yes, in the stage of bloom you are in, try it on 1 as a control first, & use a weakened/diluted dose to be on the safe side! I dont really condone foliar applications whilst in bloom, but you may get away with it in the stage your in! why i recommend you paint it on your leaves (underside & overside), this way you lessen the chance of infecting your buds through dampining them which could cause moldy buds if you aint carefull!
