umm believe it or not if this server were in the US many ISP's and hosts dont even require warrants to pony up you IP and any other harvested data and even then its illegality give the feds legal grounds for investigation inluding justification for warrants


This is why IC Mag being located overseas is of such benefit. Plus I don't see gypsy being the sort to ever find acceptable the disclosure of his servers traffic, in fact it may be the reason the site is located where it is reduced if not eliminated the security liability of that sort

If it can happen to steroid users during Operation Raw Deal. it can happen here! all PM's are even stored and can be viewed by the mods. sooo... no this place is not exactly safe... if youre smart you would use proxies and if you want to talk about things of illegal nature take it to encrypted email.

yeah i was wondering the same thing the last few days... would suck for that to happen. but yes they have the means to trace you, however they'd most likely never bother unless they had reason to believe you were selling it etc in large amounts.

i might add that all text msgs in australia are saved by their carriers (3, optus, etc) for 6months to a year, and key words pop them up and they can be read and handed over to the cops, all since the terrorism shit happened. a few friends of mine were telling me recently too that phone calls might now be recorded, saying they've seen a few news reports on it, and like text msgs they can be summoned up later on if police have reason to suspect you of dealing etc... i haven't researched this so i'm not sure if it's true, the text msg thing i heard from friends who work for telstra however.

Wrong..... PM's cannot be viewed by mods. Also for your safety there is a delete button to delete private PM's when your done reading them.

that is a good thing. alot of boards do just what i mentioned. And yes deleting pms after reading is a smart thing. mods may not be able to read them, but they are still stored. Do you guys have encryption plugins for PM's? that is a handy feature.

No, but there's SSL and PGP (and many other high-strength encryption software) if you so choose to use it.

What you speak of is simply security through insecurity and highly flawed unless implemented in a way that's inconvenient for users or impractical for the administrators. In short, unrealistic for the scope of this site.

there are many safeguards in place and most are not obvious.

be smart about what you post and where you post from.

i doubt very much that anything on the servers' end has led to one single bust.

all busts are the result of one member trusting an unknown online entity, sharing info, or one way or another compromising his/her own security.

Up until late last year you could watch the full length video, "Kog A Growers Lot" on Google video, now you can't. I guess Kog took legal action over copyright or something, great story and good advice for outdoor grows.

See how he clones in plain old dirt. Makes me wonder why some people have so much trouble cloning on this site.
