It is an outrage that you did this bro....nothing personal, but shame on you. You admit that you knew better, but still cavged in.
WHY did you believe the lying fuckers?/ If they COULD get a warrant, they WOULD have gotten one before showing up in the first place. Cops do not mind taking a few minutes to get a warrant...saves them all the cajoling and lying and bullshitting..IF THEY CAN...but in your case WHY did you swallow this filthy jizzum of a lie?
The cops cannot stand around peeping in your windows while they ' get a warrant'...it was all a bluff, and you fell for it.
What I cannot comprehend easily is why otherwise sane people will cave in....you would say HELL NO to some freaking stranger that wanted to enter your home and ruin your life...so WHY IN HELL do it for some stranger just because he has a stinking badge hanging around his neck?
I would have NOT spent 45 minutes...that was your downfall, arguing and allowing them to whittle away your resolve...I would have ended it all in 45 SECONDS, by simply saying:" Officers, either produce a warrant or go fuck yourselves...if you violate ANy of my rights I WILL sue you in Federal court and demand an internal investigation of all of you. Fuck off ."
then, they GO AWAY, muttering to themselves about how these lawyers are too effective in teaching people their rights...they will simply find the typical sucker, like you, to get. People like me do not get victimized by them because we never believe anything the scum say, and we never give consent, no matter what.

Sorry for your troubles..I do not mean to be too hard on you..but I am sick of hearing these same stories where a brother gets fucked because he believed a lying cop. If they do not have a warrant, then it is highly unlikley they can get one...or they WOULD have!! Fact. Next time, grow a pair and stand firm...it is a great feeling to watch the scumbag pigs all pissed off going away...and they will at least respect you...people who give in are despised by the cops ...they hate weakness.

By the way...your attorney told you that crap to make you feel better...thats all. Ask him what probable cause they would have used for the warrant affadavit if you had refused...if he cannot instantly give you several items that would equate probable cause, then he was bullshitting you. Lawyers always want their client to plead...they get the money, you get something of a break..and they do not have to actually do any real legal work to speak of. He calls it a win no matter what.
Remember this: If a cop has to rely on your consent to get in, there is a VERY HIGH probability that they do not have sufficient probable cause to get one...it is just giving it a try to see if you broke weak...and you did. most do, sadly.
End all confrontations with cops as soon as possible...this means if you are outside and they puill up, go inside and lock the door. had you done that, and communicated thru an intercom, you would still be enjoying your hobby today and telling us how neat it was to see them leave emptyhanded..everyone should have an intercom to eliminate face to face with the fuckers, and also if possible record on video/audio all conversation with them.
YOU take control of the situation....YOU be the one in charge...YOU decide what is said and what happens...not them...it empowers you and gets them off your back. try it!!

I think you could have gone back in, pulled your window blinds, and done your best to destroy the grow, if the warrent was so easy to get they would have been there with it in the first place, but its always easy to backseat drive someone elses problem and pass judgement on how they handled it.

i would of told em no way. wait for a warrant. any damage they did would be way cheaper than what its gonna cost you for a lawyer and court shit.

Last year I had 2 cops at my door claiming that they were responding to a 911 call hangup. It was like 2am and I held them at the door in my underwear. They were adamant about wanting to do a search of my residence. I didn't let them, figuring if they had the goods on me they wouldn't have knocked in the first place. Luckily it was raining cats and dogs and they didn't snoop around my premesis looking for probable cause. Shortly after they left I did see lights in one of my windows and the few seconds of waiting to hear thunder were the longest of my life.
Bottom line, I didn't consent to search and they couldn't do anything about it, except leave.
