Sentinel is driving me insane!!!

Wow this company is on my last nerve.
FIRST
I just got my CHHC-1 total environmental controller back which is still reading incorrectly unless my room is a growers wonder which is sitting on a natural pocket of Co2 which came out of now where. They said the censor was replaced and it was working fine.

I put the monitor on the wall BOOM 1350 PPM and still around the same + or - 50 ppm an hour after leaving it to adjust. I`m not retarded in my opinion and have taken every possiblity into acct but there is no way that my room is sitting at 1350 PPm with no co2 injection and as a control when i first got the controller, for temp control mainly, it was reading around 740 ppm, so this is how i justify its definitely messed up.

SECOND
I decided to just crank the PPM up to around 1750-1900 to make up for the difference since its the 4th week of flower and i have to get some use out of this 1500 Investment!!! I plug everything in and Viola the burner does nothing. I turn it off and on again and nothing. Check the manual and figure maybe its the shut off valve so i tip it in a direction adn then turn it off then on again and NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know or care whether your unit is bad or not (I've used lots of CHHC-1's), your problem-solving techniques suck. No wonder you're so frustrated. I recall Sentinel/GGPS specifically mentioning in the manual that calibration should be done outdoors.

Google "Rae gas detection tube" and visit a grow shop or order online.

Or you can keep spinning your tires.

I love my CHHC-1.

You a female? Well i`ll just assume since you come off as one.

Haha people like you crack me up ma`am by Contribute nothing to a thread ,just offend and talk about themselves. I believe i`ve seen you do it to someone else to recently so i`ll save my time and just say your advice nor comments are welcome here

I just told you how to solve, or at worst, troubleshoot/pinpoint your problem, and you're telling me I'm here to contribute nothing and here only to insult you.

That`s not an insult? Also you think i`m gonna complain about a product and not know how it works and how to calibrate it?

I`d say about 90% of your post was talking about yourself and insults and maybe 10% was troubleshooting, which of course i already know about Co2 gas detection tubes considering there is no way a 10x10 room has an ambient co2 of 1350ppm they are probably a waste ( and if you read the post i said when it was first hung up about 4 months ago it read 740ppm)

I`m just saying its pretty obvious ur just one of those people who post just to post and of course likes talking about themselves.

And Son i`ve been doing this too long to get frustrated anymore!!

Ok "son". Without pointing out the holes in your post, I'll tell you that I have a lot of experience with sealed rooms, and it's not difficult at all to jack up the levels to artificial ones especially in a small area like 10x10. There is no "standard" when you're dealing with indoor, especially when plants are in 'em. Which is why the manufacturer asks you to calibrate it outside (not using indoor as "control" unless you have KNOWN values, which you do NOT).

I've heard that these particular units cannot be placed within 10-15ft of an electronic ballast. They generate too much electromagnetic interference.

Hey I thought that maybe you were talking about a probation company from back home. It could be worse.

Haha that`s hilarious!!! I know what you mean but they would drive me insane as well haha (29 days till my constitutional rights are reinstated)

Grow nerd if you check the previous comments no one mention themselves or any insults. They just dropped some information and that`s all. they didnt come in here and tell me i suck at something because a product doesn't work, albeit you haven`t had any problems with it yourself.

See here's the thing... when you were specifically instructed to calibrate it OUTDOORS... and you fail to follow those instructions and try to do it INDOORS, the first thing you should be doing ISN'T coming to ICMag and bitching about how refusing to follow instructions / directions didn't work out too hot for you.

I mean, I'm just saying... it's not that difficult most of the time...

Lady please tell me where i specifically said i calibrated the unit inside.

Just to save space for people who i would rather here from than yourself i`ll spell it out for you. It was calibrated outside multiple times. Now you need not even post son. wow who doesnt know to calibrate a co2 monitor outside?

Is that your "experience" making you post common sense solutions?

Haha preciate that fix hydro-soil

G

Ok, maybe you didn't specifically state that you calibrated it inside... but it was effectively the same thing, and might as well have. Trying to use unknown variables as constants (and wondering why you're drawing blanks) is not considered good problem solving skills.

Your resistance is futile. I fucking win.

Take the unit outside away from the street and leave it for an hour. What does it read? I believe ambient PPM is 350. I know you calibrated it outside, but does it still read 350 when you go back out?

Are you getting these "false" high readings at lights off? Plants create CO2 at lights off

You may know all this but those are things I would try first.

Is it possible for you to get another PPM meter/unit to borrow from a buddy or your local grow shop?

I have used 3 of these CHHC-1 at different ops w/o issue

yea calibrate outside, and if anything give those guys a call they are way cool helped me out when I couldn't figure out how to get it to work with my cap air 4. I purchased the cppm1 already had the atmosphere controller but in hindsight should have grabbed the all in one and sold the cap or save it for the veg room.

iam not sure if you mentioned it or not, but could their be anything else in the room with a pilot light or in the house-barn-shed-warehouse?? do yo have a co2 monitor you can use to check it out?? btw, i love that controller!!

Yea actually when it is outside amazingly it reads correctly that`s the thing. Its registers around 380 and i leave it setting for about an hour before i even calibrate it just to be sure its adjusted. AS soon as it comes inside with no one in the room it starts shooting up to about 1200 ppm!!

I actually just had it sent back from the gps guy and he was def pretty cool about it but its 4th week of flower so really couldnt be worse time ya know but it`s a part of life it happens. he replaced the sensor so i am just lost with the problem

I have also located every burning pilot light etc in the house and there isnt anything that couldn`t affect it within 30ft.Again though i have had the monitor for months and originally it was reading 740 just before even being calibrated, which is pretty normal for inside a room, but not 1354. And yea it reads around 1200 with the lights off.

I am gonna get a meter from a friend on Monday and see whats up, but the worst part is my burner is not working now either so it doesn`t make a difference. I have taken it down and done everything possible except open it up to get it working.

The point of this thread is purely to keep people on their toes and remember this is a life of equipment and its our job to make sure everything is cool as much as it is too keep up with the plants ya know.

Thanks for all the input guys and i guess i`ll be sending both back to gps to get a once over again. Def losing about a lb cause of not having this running

I've never really had any of my sealed rooms drop below 1300ppm when the door is closed.

However, when the lights are on and CO2 off, the plants will eat up the CO2 and take it from 1500 to 0 pretty quickly (about an hour-ish). If the lights are off, I can go from close to 0ppm (I accidentally let my tank run out once) to >1200ppm as well without a tank/burner. Whether lights are on and how many plants are in there, as well as other variables like you being in there, how well the room is sealed, etc. will affect it quite a bit. All bets are off inside unless you have a second way of testing it (Rae gas detection tubes, second sniffer).

You're screwing yourself with your lack of experience and knowledge. You can doubt me all you want. Chances are good that I've set up more CHHC-1's in more sealed rooms than anyone else on this site.

haha there you go again running off at the mouth about yourself saying something that`s already been said. If you love yourself so much why don`t you just start a site where only you can post and then you can basque in the glory of your almighty knowledge.

Haha im willing to bet you haven`t set up more sealed rooms then myself alone other people on this site. but again son im not going to get into a pissing contest with you, you`ll enjoy seeing my dong too much. haha
