hey , i have a 4x4 table i need a light over , would 2x 600 hps be better over a 4x4 table or would the 1000 hps be better for a 4x4 table ? thanks

600s all the way, you will get better light spread, get the lights closer and more light to your plants. 600s are the most efficient.

well if you dont mind paying a little extra for the 2nd light...then for sure the 2 600's since you can get them closer , 2nd point of light for more even ditribution too....Dr.D has it

I am a huge fan of the dual 600w setups. In fact, that is what I have now in my 4x4 tent (check the grow log :D). More coverage, more lumens, more POWAH!

2 600's then if you expand you can have 2 grow lights and then always snag up 2 more and continue expanding your setup.

also if 1 goes out you still have 1 versus the 1k

With 30 if 1 goes out you still have 29. My solution is clearly better.

2 are the way to go....its easy!!
more w = more field
better light spread = more field
closer to the plants = more fields!!

a 400w + 600w are even better than a 1000w

the only benefit you will have with a 1000 is if you run large plants.. other than that you get more watts, more spread, multiple light points etc..

yo, and that shit will run about 5, maybe 8 degrees cooler than a 1000k. i run 2 600s. i made the right decision. plant canopy is hard to control the first run, esp with seeds. and i get as close as 1 inch from my plants, nothing to worry about. heated my house real nice through the winter too, i just vented then inside. also i just made a duct muffler for like $50, great shit. dont gotta be real fancy, but it really helps. i would rather run 30x1000k though.

definitely get the 2x600 mate, you can put them a little closer vertically to the plants but space them out so they'll give the same watt/sqr foot as a 1000 but cover almost half as much area again as the 1000watt one would.

I run 2x600, but my table is 3'x7', so two lights in series covers that area perfectly, just as 1x1000 would cover 4x4 perfectly, assuming you have the height necessary to fill that foot print.

If you can cram 2x600 into a 4x4 without problems, I'd say do it because that gives you more power, but if 1x1000 is quick and easy, well, who doesn't like quick and easy.

I'm not any help at all, am I?

from a effeciency stand point 600s are the most effecient lumen per watt out there so it make sense to go 2 600s.

yeah definitely 30 x 1000w.

For a 4x4 go with a 1k... for a 3x6 go with 2 600's. I used to run 3 600's but they have a really limited amount of useful coverage per bulb...even though 600's are technically the most efficient bulb in lumens/watt, they are usually not the best option for large scale grows (unless you run a zero veg ebb/flow SOG like stoney 419) because the penetration is shitty compared to a 1000w. The only way I have yielded 1lb + per 600 bulb is by running them over a 4x4 footprint each with 16 10L square pots per light flipped at 12''. I'm sure it would have been like 1.5lbs + per 4x4 instead of 17-18oz from the same 16 plants if I had 1000's over them instead of the 600's. 1000's only for me from now on... I have yet to see anyone do 1lb+ from a 600 over a 3x3 with anything but a zero veg sog @ 4 per sqft
