Pretty much Ann Arbor, and Detroit are the only cities I've ever really hung out in Michigan, Detroit's pretty run down but a cool city nonetheless.. Ann Arbor is a blast, college towns are fun even if you're not in college. I enjoy going out to eat and seeing live music so if I were to move away from Colorado(not likely) I would consider these two places..Although the PNW is where I would end up more than likely, I need mountains in my life.

I'm guessing the people wanting to move somewhere to grow lots of pot are not overly concerned with having a regular "job" lol

Next on checklist, local dispensarys to sell all your pot to. ;)

Born in raised in Ann Arbor, been all over the state, this is the best city in the whole state. Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids are far, far, back runners-up.

Rhode Island unemployment rate is pretty high right now and jobs are pretty hard to come by. But the cost of living is relatively low, especially in the providence area.

The medical cannabis on the other hand, is incredibly cheap. While out-of-staters coming here to grow want to get at least $250/oz, medical marijuana advocacy groups are pushing for caregivers to charge no more than $150/oz. Law forbids that "extra" medicine be sold or bartered for at all, so the only legal way to transfer cannabis is by gifting.

I would guess that Michigan , New Mexico, and Montana, are probably the most affordable.
New Mexico is probably your best bet for nicest weather/most affordable. The thing about it being affordable is that usually means no jobs.. Oh yeah Oregon is pretty affordable as well, it just rains all the time..

Yup,New Mexico is cheap as dirt, also describes the wages....
but on the otherhand,i have never even seen mites or powdery mildew or bud mold,so there is that....

My husband was born n raised in MI. It is a (very) cheap place to live. There is remote wooded country, and property for sale all over the state.

Don't overlook Flint, Saginaw, Bay City and Midland/surrounding counties.

And yes Ann Arbor is one of the hipper places in the state (UofM Hash Bash comes to mind)

Jobs can be a major problem, wages are low for non skilled positions. And there is HIGH unemployment. But there is quite a bit of industry if you go to the right places. And if your into Mech/Chem/Elect Engineering you can find one of the best income/expense ratios anywhere especially by living in the Tri-City area, or the Detroit Metro area.

Did I mention MI has more waterfront/coastline than anyone knows what to do with?

Oh yeah, they have GREAT local pot too... People there have been breeding and growing great pot for decades... And MI people tend to be on the laid back side.

Third Coast!!!

I live in and highly recommend Oregon. The cost of living is miniscule! Their is NO Luxury Tax, and NO Sales Tax. We have ever conceivable Outdoor activity in every season. Also, the difference between the West side of the Cascades and the East side is dramatic.

West Side- Eugene, Sweethome, the Pacific Coast, Newport, Grants Pass. VERY Green , very lush and tropical humidity.

East Side- Bend/Redmond/Sisters area, Mt.Hood, Mt.Bachelor, Ashland. Very Dry, desert, volcano run off activity, Lots of Golf, no athritis. (Very dry)

Pick a side that suits you.

Wind Energy farms, Hardly any people, Very nice Oregon Medicinal Marijuana Program. OMMP.

I could go on. I am not from here, but I have lived in many other states.

If you don't make much money Oregon is pretty good. -no sales tax and if you don't make much money you won't pay much income tax. Oregon lets you have up to 24 ounces, many states only let you have an ounce , that's a crazy small amount even for a small closet grower. The only people in the Oregon med marijuana program that get in trouble are the people that sell their excess and get caught. No selling allowed here at all.

We're hoping that the dispensary situation in Oregon will change with a ballot initiative that allows a system of producers for dispersaries to be created. Soon you may be able to make an honest living growing MMJ in Oregon. Best part of the proposal is that medicine will be freely given to low-income patients, helping fill a huge void.

montana has extremely low cost of living, no sales tax, no alcohol tax (5.99 sixers of GOOD beer) and theres very high per capita bars & breweries

There are no jobs in Michigan.

i have one, thank you, and where i work we're hiring 2 people right now, hopefully soon, i'm sick and tired from all this overtime i'm getting.

This is what is going to keep people out of the state, the stereotype that there's no jobs and high crime is not going to attract people to Michigan. we need more new people here so there's a diverse pool for employers and the tax revenue. Lots of vacant space for people to set up shop in.

i live in detroit, i have a good job and i love living here. ann arbor is not the center of all things cool. much more happening in detroit area, you just have to not mind driving, that's fine cause i have a muscle car to get me around in.

easy...New Mexico...of course if you move close to a resort you will pay more, but there are alot of more remote areas that I would prefer.

Patients may legally possess six ounces of medical cannabis (or more if authorized by their physician) and/or 16 plants (four mature, 12 immature) under this act.

For me those are perfect numbers.

I am looking to move to a medical state sometime next year and i am wondering which medical state has the most affordable cost of living and allow the patient to grow their own plants, i was thinking about michigan but i heard that depression and anxiety are not on the list for michigan so i need a state that would allow this as a reason or a state that its easy to get a card i would like to stay as far east as possible. so help me out what state can i move to for the cheapest i wanna be a caretaker and i need to be able to find a grow friendly rentable or a cheap place to buy

Think again about Michigan.

Our law itself states that just because something isn't listed, that doesn't mean a doctor can't recommend marijuana.

There are no jobs in Michigan.
Well, what with our new marijuana laws, grow shops and compassion clubs are popping up all over the place. Hell, for all i know, i could set up a clone selling stand up on the corner at the closed-down Sunoco station, LOL! :dance013:
