Sweet Coon Sighted after 20 years

L

One of my friends raised a little baby raccoon on a bottle back in 1986 and after 2 years, gave it to my neighbor. The neighbor couldn't handle a grown raccoon for a pet, and it escaped.

This coon is hooked on SUGAR!

He has drank out of hummingbird feeders, begged for marshmallows, brought his wife and 3 kids by to visit and eat orange sherbet push ups.

I have not seen him in a few years, but yesterday he came up to my bird feeder at noon and started gobbling up my raisin/peanutbutter/cornmeal/shortening suet for the birds.

This coon is so old that his ears are solid white, his nose is solid white and he is getting skinny.

This coon has got to be 25 years old! He still likes to get out in the daytime as he did when he was in captivity.

what a great release to the wild story! That coon has had a really long life.

His name is Tycoon (he was caught stealing money out of wallet when a little tyke and hiding it in his bed).

I suspect you may have the great, great grandson of old Ty. Or the Methusala of raccoons. My reference was only Wikipedia, but your boy is way past any kind of longevity expectation.

The rascal is eating every day at 10 AM to 11 AM !!

He saw me this morning and ran off when I opened the door to throw him some hamburger buns.

Tycoon is eating up all my bird suet.... help! Send marshmallows fast!

My father still tells the story of his pet raccoon that lived in the tree out in his front yard, when he was growing up.

It is a regular animal house over here!

I got a coon in the tree, a rabbit that lives in the backyard, a wren that is building a nest in my pickup's grill, and let's not forget the swarms of mean coyotes and wolves circling us all at nite, trying to eat us all...

just call me Ellie May!
