How does a regulation limiting corporate influence in a way that certain constituents believe turn into some conspiracy theory involving the govt creating artificial problems just for the sake of being able to fix them?

Maybe one could argue this all is reflective of certain beliefs that govt can fix everyone's problems, but it's not like some big conspiracy theory to gain govt support over people...

I am conflicted over this because it's so clearly obvious that McDonalds is an evil shitsucking corporation that brainwashes society & children, and at the same time, this legislation gives a bad message that people aren't responsible for their own actions, but my gut tells me that clearly McDonalds has the upside on this in terms of power in brainwashing children & the balances need to be tipped towards the benefit of children instead of the pockets of McDonalds' advertising executives. Same goes with most food companies out there.

If you followed that logic you could say the free market should fix pollution in rivers not by govt regulation and protection but rather by consumers shifting their demand to companies which are more environmentally friendly.

I don't understand how something that the people tell the govt do to can be considered part of a big govt plan to gain control. Orwell is great but it seems misapplied here. You could have said the same about rivers being polluted - that it's all some govt plot to get us to succumb.

I agree that fast food is garbage, but on the other hand I do not agree with the government telling parents how and what to feed their kids... Just another instance, that is becoming all too common these days, where the assholes in office try to control us, good or bad, they need to step back and let people make their own decisions....There are alot of dumb people and the government can not and should not have to "stear" these people in the right direction. Personally, I hate all fast food and think its gross shit, BUT, I dont need ANYONE telling me what and what not to eat.....Ill make my own decision.
